Zelensky's Fiasko at the World Forum in Davos

Davos, Switzerland hosts the annual World Forum. For the first time, its participant is a former comedian, and now President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

On Wednesday evening, January 22, Zelensky spoke to the audience. More precisely - almost in front of an empty room. At a speech by the President of Ukraine, the audience was only a few people. At that time, for example, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, who spoke to Zelensky, gathered a full house.

World leaders seem to have realized that Zelensky is an empty suit as a politician and an extremely hollow person.

In Zelensky’s speech in Davos itself, there were many absurd things. In particular, for some reason he asked the EU to take Ukraine to itself instead of Britain leaving the EU.

European media cites such words from Zelensky’s speech: “We see our future in the EU. What should the EU do? Just to take Ukraine to the EU, these are very complex things, although these are very simple solutions. We signed an association agreement, we support the course in the EU, but we must understand that not only Ukraine should and wants to join the EU. But the European Union, some EU countries, should also want to attract Ukraine to the EU. The question is not when we will be in the EU. The question is what status Ukraine will have in the EU, what will be the attitude to our country. Attitude to a powerful player, a country that is respected, or which is looked down on? And it seems to me that now is a very convenient moment. One big country made an exit, maybe for Ukraine it’s time to enter. ”

In addition, Zelensky suddenly began to complain about his difficult fate during his speech: “I have been the president of Ukraine for 248 days. And all these days I worked for Ukraine and did not have time for myself. It’s hard for me to explain to my children why I’m not at home with them. ”

Meanwhile, at the beginning of this year Zelensky fell into a scandal, just related to his vacation. The President of Ukraine secretly flew with his wife to resort in Oman and was photographed in a luxury hotel there. The photos got into the media, after which the President of Ukraine had to invent that it was an official trip, which he carried out at his own expense.

From Davos Zelensky will fly to Israel. By the way, recently the President of Ukraine tried to make a demarche, insisting that he be given the floor in Jerusalem at the Holocaust forum. Otherwise, Zelensky threatened to refuse a trip to Israel. As a result, the President of Ukraine wasn't allowed to speak, but at the same time, his visit to Jerusalem was not canceled.

Now Zelensky is asking the Russian delegation to let him hold a meeting in Jerusalem with Vladimir Putin . The Russians have not yet given a definite answer, they just have not ruled out that a meeting could be held “on their feet,” that is, fleeting communication.

Surprisingly hostile toward Zelensky. He must be a good guy.

He's getting the same pallet of shite that Vince Vaughn is getting for merely being polite and shaking hands with Donald Trump.

The Left. Insane. Losers.

This reminds me of the attacks on President Trump.

Maybe Zelenski is doing good things.

The purpose of Davis Forum is to attract the rich to invest in your country. Would you invest a penny after listening to it?

How would you describe Zelensky, in a way that Americans could pigeonhole him on the political spectrum?

Just being a comedian is no crime, unless one is a US Senator from MN. So why the outward hostility to a Ukrainian President by the Euros?

Does he have any good ideas to help Ukraine keep its independence from Russia?

Or is he a front man for oligarchs?

There is nothing wrong with his remarks. He presents himself well.

So again, its odd the hostility toward him.

Empty suit? Sounds like Zelensky would make a good PM of Russia.

Blank, as Channel 7 calls him.
I don’t even get is he on the left or on the right.
Zelensky is a puppet of oligarch Kolomoisky.
The whole TV show of him playing a president was part of his campaign.
The major idea was that his rule would be ‘different’ and put the corrupt in prison.
As for Russia he promised to end ‘the war’. Putin somehow played to Zelensky’s hand as a gesture of good will and that is all.
Zelensky clearly pro-independence, vis-a-vis Russia but not Germany.

The Soros crowd must be mad at Zelensky for some reason.

Didn’t they also send him a letter with a set of demands?

Davos Forum is an investment forum. Telling you are a country at war and promising to fix enormous corruption is a poor way to attract investment. Not to mention he was talking to an empty hall.

Everyone knows the country is at war, and everyone knows the country has a history of corruption. He has to deal with those questions or its just happy talk.

The article misquotes him in his remarks about his family. That doesn’t speak well of the writer.

Its a hit job. Again, it has the reverse effect on me than what it apparently intended.

Remember Senator George Murphy (R-CA)

George Lloyd Murphy was an American dancer, actor, and politician. Murphy was a song-and-dance leading man in many big-budget Hollywood musicals from 1930 to 1952. He was the president of the Screen Actors Guild from 1944 to 1946, and was awarded an honorary Oscar in 1951.

When the last battle took place?
If I was trying to attract investment into a hell hole I’d focus on how cheap the assets are and how high the potential returns.
Telling about war risks and promising a special government ‘fixer’ you are supposed to call when your business is unlawfully raided by IRS or assets repossessed by a corrupt judge produces the opposite effect.
Although investors knew everything ahead. They don’t want to compete with Biden’s and Pelosi families and skipped the speech.

Perhaps a better way of wording that they don’t want to compete with the Bidens and Clintons is that they don’t want to alienate the Bidens and Clintons and their supporters and investors.

Best regards, NV!
