WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush is nominating Gregory C. Garre to be the U.S. solicitor general, the lawyer charged with arguing the administration's cases before the Supreme Court. A senior administration official confirmed the nomination Monday on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not yet been made.
