As we gathered on the corner of Shaw and Blackstone last night, we were met with honks and thumbs-up from the Fresno motorists. We are becoming a familiar sight again. The last couple of weeks, it took the motorists a little while to decide what we were doing there. Now the horn honking is starting much sooner. In fact, we received a couple of honks before we could get our signs set up. FriendAnn and I arrived just before five o'clock. There were no peacenics on the opposite corner. Eight of us gathered on Patriot's Corner at Shaw and Blackstone tonight to show our support for our Troops and the President's War on Terror. The weather co-operated and cooled a lot from the hot temperatures of earlier in the week. The wind was a little more than a gentle breeze, but did not cause us too many problems. Our opposition gathered on the South East corner and were out with signs when FriendAnn and I arrived at 5:00. There were about 2 dozen there with typical signs, IE: Bush Lied,Soldiers Died and No more American Blood for Iraqui Oil....

Twelve of us gathered on our favorite corner in Fresno tonight for a "Support Our Troops" Rally. The weather was warm but a nice breeze helped to make it very pleasant. The peaceniks were not on the opposite corner; it is our understanding that they only meet on the first Friday of every month. We plan to start scheduling our rallies to coincide with theirs whenever possible. As usual, the motorists of Fresno were happy to show their support with horn honking, thumbs up and friendly waves. Spring was in the air as we gathered to support the troops and President Bush on the corner of Shaw & Blackstone. The traffic was very light due to it being Good Friday, but the honks in support of the troops were numerous.
