U.S. Army post Fort Moore, formerly Fort Benning, is offering a $15,000 reward for information regarding more than 30 missing M17 pistols assumed stolen. WAYCROSS, Ga. — Three Georgia soldiers have been identified as the three United States service members killed in a drone attack in Jordan near the border with Syria on Sunday. Forty students and four Ranger instructors in the swamp phase of Ranger School were struck by lightning Wednesday afternoon. All 44 were evacuated to a local hospital, but many were discharged, according to a press release from Fort Benning, Georgia, home of the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade. Eleven soldiers remained hospitalized Thursday evening, according to a news report. “At the time of the incident, they were conducting lightning-protection protocols when lightning struck nearby,” the release states.

Shots are believed to have been fired after as many as six people entered the Fort Benning Army base without authorization on Thursday afternoon. The base is located in Columbus, Georgia, near the Alabama line.
