The Linda Schrenko trial has suddenly ended in Atlanta, as the former Georgia State School Superintendent has pleaded guilty. In a deal with prosecutors, Schrenko pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to one charge of fraud and another of money laundering. Under the plea bargain, the former superintendent will serve an eight-year prison sentence, drop her right to an appeal and hand over other evidence in the case. Schrenko was accused along with two co-defendents of diverting federal education money into her failed gubernatorial campaign four years ago.
