On Sunday, the federal government presented the finished draft law for the planned general obligation to vaccinate against coronavirus. This will come into force at the beginning of February with an "initial phase", as Chancellor Karl Nehammer (OVP) said on Sunday at a joint press conference with Constitutional Minister Karoline Edstadler (OVP) and Health Minister Wolfgang Muckstein (Greens). In contrast to the original plan, vaccination will now apply to people aged 18 and over and not 14 years of age.
