Why am I concerned with the prospect of Hillary Rodham Clinton as President of the United States? Let me begin to count the reasons. For many years I have been a sworn police officer. Mrs. Clinton’s dislike of police has long been a matter of record. From her contempt for the Arkansas troopers on her bodyguard detail when her husband was governor of that state, to the disdain with which she treated Secret Service when she was in the White House, to her campaign’s recent announcement that it was not interested in an endorsement by the Fraternal Order of Police,...

During the Democrat’s national convention, it took until the third day before anyone got around to mentioning support for law enforcement. Police officials sharply criticized the Democratic Party for giving time for speeches to the Mothers of the Movement from Black Lives Matter, but failing to offer any time at all for the families of law-enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, especially those in Dallas who died protecting a BLM rally. According to the president of the largest police union, that’s no accident — and Hillary Clinton wants nothing to do with police, The Hill’s Jonathan Swan reports...

Top officials at the biggest police union in the country are upset with Hillary Clinton, saying she snubbed them. The leader of the National Fraternal Order of Police told The Hill that the Democrat sent a signal through her staff that she wouldn’t be seeking the union’s endorsement. "It sends a powerful message. To be honest with you, I was disappointed and shocked," said Chuck Canterbury, the president of the National Fraternal Order of Police. "You would think with law enforcement issues so much in the news that even if she had disagreements with our positions, that she would’ve been...

Philly Cops Blast Hillary Over Black Lives Matter & Co. July 25, 2016, Malcolm A. Kline The media and academia may regard them as a source of multicultural wisdom but local police have to look at what groups like Black Lives Matter actually do. “The Fraternal Order of Police is insulted and will not soon forget that the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton are excluding the widows, and other family members of Police Officers killed in the line of duty who were victims of explicit, and not implied racism and ‘being on duty in blue,’” John J. McNesby, President of...

Prosecutors and defense attorneys in the Allied Veterans of the World case are disputing whether Attorney General Pam Bondi must answer a subpoena and testify. Court records show the state has asked a judge to quash a subpoena for Bondi, who is scheduled for a deposition next week by attorneys for several defendants in the gambling and money laundering case. Bondi argued in her motion that her testimony is no different from what other witnesses could offer and she is entitled to “testimonial immunity” due to her rank. Defense attorney Curtis Fallgatter argued in court documents that Bondi was briefed...

Miami's police union voted to boycott Beyonce's April concert in the city on the grounds that Beyonce used used the Super Bowl to spread an "anti-police message" that "shows how she does not support law enforcement", the organization said. The Miami Fraternal Order of Police announced on Wednesday that the organization would be boycotting the singer's April 26 show at Marlin Stadium. In a series of tweets posted this week, Miami FOP President Javier Ortiz posted images shared images supporting the boycott, with one reading "back the blue, boycott Beyonce". ...

The president of the Louisville police union caused a backlash when he issued an open letter calling unspecified activists “sensationalists, liars and race-baiters.” Dave Mutchler is the president of the River City Fraternal Order of Police and a sergeant in the Louisville Metro Police Department. He distributed the two-page letter six days after a police officer shot and killed 35-year-old Deng Manyuon, a Sudanese refugee who attacked him with a flagpole. …

...in Freddie Gray CaseThe Fraternal Order of Police has suggested that Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby may not be able to run a fair, impartial investigation of the death of Freddie Gray at the hands of police, in part because of her close relationship with the Gray family’s lawyer. Mosby on Friday announced charges against six Baltimore police officers for manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct related to Gray’s death. Gray suffered a fatal spinal injury while in police custody, an event that led to rioting in the city this week. Just before Mosby announced that charges were filed, the Fraternal...

The executive director of the Fraternal Order of Police criticized President Obama Thursday for his remarks about law enforcement in Ferguson, Mo. "I would contend that discussing police tactics from Martha's Vineyard is not helpful to ultimately calming the situation," director Jim Pasco said in an interview with The Hill.

IT’S USUALLY TOUGH to get kicked out of Philadelphia’s Fraternal Order of Police. You really have to screw up. Worse than, say, the cop who allegedly beat his girlfriend with a closed fist and left her a voice mail threatening to “stomp your f---ing heart out.” Or the officer convicted of child endangerment for pointing a loaded Glock at a kid who changed the radio station in his truck at the Police Academy. Or the cop who allegedly forced a suspect to perform oral sex on him in his police cruiser. The local FOP, which represents about 14,600 current and...

A media advisory has gone out saying that a "major Virginia organization" is going to be endorsing Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli tomorrow. WHEN: Thursday, September 24th at 9AM WHERE: House Briefing Room in the General Assembly Building in Richmond Virtucon has heard via a leak (note: not from any of these campaigns) that this will be the Fraternal Order of Police, but has yet to confirm it formally. Coming on the heels of today's Fairfax Chamber of Commerce endorsement of McDonnell, I'd hazard to say that the old winning coalition assembled by Govs. George Allen and Jim...

President Obama plunged his administration into a racially charged controversy yesterday by again siding with a black Harvard scholar who accused police of racism. Obama's original comment Wednesday that cops acted "stupidly" in arresting Henry Louis Gates at his home in Cambridge, Mass., marked the president's biggest foray into the hot-button issue of race since taking office -- and infuriated law enforcement around the country. At a news conference on health care, the president was asked a question about the professor's arrest. He acknowledged that Gates was a friend -- and suggested police were at fault. "I think it's fair...

BOSTON — Many police officers across the country have a message for President Barack Obama: Get all the facts before criticizing one of our own. Obama's public criticism that Cambridge officers "acted stupidly" when they arrested black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. could make it harder for police to work with people of color, some officers said Thursday. It could even set back the progress in race relations that helped Obama become the nation's first African-American president, they said. "What we don't need is public safety officials across the country second-guessing themselves," said David Holway, president of the International...
