The Justice Department has presented Boeing with a plea deal after it accused the airplane manufacturer of violating the terms of a 2021 deferred prosecution agreement that was put in place following two 737 Max crashes in 2018 and 2019. The Justice Department told Boeing it could plead guilty or go to trial, people familiar with the talks confirmed to CBS News. The agreement, which was presented to Boeing on Sunday, would have the company plead guilty to the conspiracy charge it originally faced in 2021. In exchange, Boeing would pay a fine and enter a three-year probationary period, the...

Hundreds of thousands of migrants have been authorized to fly into Miami, Florida — among dozens of other United States airports — as part of a parole pipeline that President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) created and implemented. The airports where migrants are flying into the U.S. were revealed in a report from Todd Bensman with the Center for Immigration Studies. As Bensman notes, Biden’s DHS launched the parole pipeline, known as Advance Travel Authorization, in October 2022. It has since permitted 386,000 migrants to book their flights to the U.S. to secure “humanitarian parole.”

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. (WHDH) - Dozens of people crowded into North Andover High School on Monday to voice their opinions during a lively Select Board meeting where a proposal to fly the Palestinian flag above Town Common was ultimately approved. The request to fly the flag on the Town Common flag pole was approved after about an hour of public comment, during which those gathered spoke both in favor of and against flying the flag amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.“It’s a big deal for us to see the Palestinian flag that many of us think represents the...

A British-built solar powered drone with a 115ft wingspan that can operate in the air for 20 months has made a successful maiden voyage to the stratosphere – the second layer of Earth's atmosphere. Over a 24-hour period, PHASA-35 took off from New Mexico and soared to more than 66,000 feet, officially reaching the stratosphere, before landing successfully. The 150kg solar-electric aircraft, which has a wingspan lined with solar panels, has been developed by London firm BAE Systems at their facility in Warton, Lancashire. It is powered by the sun during the day and by batteries overnight, allowing it to...

Sometimes, certain things can become very annoying. And here is one, that likely only male members of FR might think of and surely (or at least very, VERY hopefully!) only our guys have experienced: Sweatpants / running pants / jogging pants can be handy and quite comfy, sweatpants in cool weather especially so. BUT, the darn things almost never have some sort of fly, as in a zippered or buttoned or "snapped" (securely!) fly. This can be a bit of a, well, "pain", or at least an inconvenience, especially if the waist is a bit tight, and, well, I won't...

Joe Biden could have been a good president. All he had to do was leave things alone. Instead, he blundered into the office and wrecked the country. He is like the guy on a Boeing 747 high over the Atlantic Ocean who breaks into the cockpit and says, “I can fly this thing.” “You don’t have to, Joe,” the pilot says, “It’s on autopilot. It flies itself. You know, computers.” Undeterred, Joe presses buttons and flips switches. The plane goes into a nosedive. Which is where we are today. You don’t put a guy like this in control. He is...

The Twitter Files reveal that one of the most common news sources of the Trump era was a scam, making ordinary American political conversations look like Russian spywork ... Ambitious media frauds Stephen Glass and Jayson Blair crippled the reputations of the New Republic and New York Times, respectively, by slipping years of invented news stories into their pages. Thanks to the Twitter Files, we can welcome a new member to their infamous club: Hamilton 68. If one goes by volume alone, this oft-cited neoliberal think-tank that spawned hundreds of fraudulent headlines and TV news segments may go down as...

President Joe Biden flies off Thursday to attend global summits in two European cities. After he climbs the steps of Air Force One he will stop, turn and wave goodbye to a Democratic party scrambling to deliver a roughly $2 trillion spending package and a nation troubled by a host of domestic issues. First stop is Rome for a G-20 summit and then its on to Glasgow, Scotland, for the COP26 U.N. Climate Change Conference, personal commitments by a president for whom a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border is just one journey too many.

TThe Biden administration plans on “massive movements” of Haitian migrants in a small Texas border city on flights to Haiti starting Sunday, an official said Friday, representing a swift and dramatic response to thousands who suddenly assembled under and around a bridge. Details are yet to be finalized but will likely involve five to eight flights a day, according to the official with direct knowledge of the plans who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. San Antonio, the nearest major city, may be among the departure cities. U.S....

Black soldier fly larvae (BSF) can replace soybean meal (SBM) as protein source in the diet for growing pigs. That was discovered by a multidisciplinary research team of Wageningen University and Research (WUR) and Leiden University, the Netherlands. There is increasing pressure against the use of SBM as a source of dietary protein source in animal feed, as cultivating SBM requires cropland that could also be used to grow food crops. BSF is potentially a more suitable and sustainable protein source, as it can be grown on waste and residual streams from food production. Trials The researchers studied two groups...

“Let me just start out by saying that so much of what he just said is not right,” Hillary began. And then while 63 million people watched, a member of Musca domestica, or the common housefly, landed and perched near her eye. Trump had just wrapped up a thorough takedown of the Clintons and their abuse of women. “There’s never been anybody in the history politics in this nation that’s been so abusive to women,” he said. The camera cut to a stone-faced Bill Clinton sitting unmoving in the VIP box. “Hillary Clinton attacked those same women and attacked them...
