A Florida city police officer was reportedly arrested and stripped of his duties after being pulled over by a county sheriff's deputy for alleged reckless driving. Officer Alexander Shaouni was allegedly driving 80 mph in a 45 mph zone in a marked Orlando Police Department vehicle when he was pulled over by a deputy of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, according to police dashcam footage. The deputy activated his lights and raced to catch up with Shaouni's SUV after reportedly noticing him speeding down a local road. "Over 100 miles an hour trying to catch up to him," the deputy...

Sheriff Wayne Ivey said Walsh and his roommate were taking a break from playing online video games with friends when Lawson pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger. The sheriff said Lawson “jokingly” aimed the gun at Walsh, thinking it was not loaded. Lawson called 911 and reported that he had accidentally shot Walsh and was “fully distraught and devastated” when Palm Bay officers arrived, Ivey said. Officers found Walsh inside the home with a single gunshot wound. Lawson faces a manslaughter charge. He was being held without bond at the Brevard County Jail.

New Port Richey resident Jason Stoll had obtained a permit to close a street and sell hot dogs. When the permit expired at midnight, Stoll still had a few more dogs to sell, so he kept going. He hadn't got that "Hustle Eat Sleep Repeat" tattoo for nothing. However, police officers were ready to open the road back up to normal traffic. They let Stoll know that it was time to pack up and go home, but Stoll was still hustling. When the officers insisted, Stoll threw a hotdog at them, striking one of the officer's uniform. The police officers...

Lawyers for a Fed-Ex worker who was badly burned in an explosion when a deputy tasered him while he was pumping gas say he is being 'vilified' by cops who suggested he was armed when the 26-year-old had 'never had a gun or brandished a gun.' The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has yet to produce a charge against 26-year-old Jean Barreto, who was tackled from behind, allegedly without warning, during the botched arrest. 'I’ve never seen law enforcement behaving this way in Central Florida and doing these types of things for anything from no offense to misdemeanor offenses,' said Mark...

A Florida man broke a beer bottle over his head, prompting a deputy who thought the popping sound was a gunshot to shoot him, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported Saturday. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said deputies were trying to arrest Matthew Correa, 27, when it happened, as he was a suspect in a series of crimes, including an armed robbery. Correa was in a pickup when he stood up through the sunroof with a rifle in one hand and a bottle of Busch Light in the other. He then broke the bottle over his head. “The sergeant who...
