Russia launched the world's first floating nuclear reactor today, sending it on an epic journey across the Arctic, despite environmentalists warning it could become a 'Chernobyl on ice'. Loaded with nuclear fuel, the Akademik Lomonosov left the Arctic port of Murmansk to begin its 3,000-mile (5,000 kilometre) voyage to Pevek in northeastern Siberia.
