President Biden marked his 81st birthday with a tongue-in-cheek reference to his age in a fiery Instagram post Monday. “Turns out on your 146th birthday, you run out of space for candles!” Biden joked in the post, showing off his cake decorated with dozens of lit candles huddled together along the perimeter. The crowded flames formed a blazing ring atop the celebratory dessert, drawing awe in the post’s comments section. “Does the secret service have a fire division?” one comment joked. “Y’all could have at least made the cake bigger so all of those candles had a little room to...

Dash-cam video has surfaced of a highspeed chase on October 13 at roughly 1:11 a.m. involving Arkansas State Troopers and a man on a motorcycle who refused to pull over. A state trooper noticed the motorcycle didn’t have a license plate so the cop lit him up—oops, I mean turned on his police lights. The biker decided to hit the blast and a high-speed...

(That thrill wasn't up his leg!) An MSNBC spokesman confirmed Saturday the company made a separation-related payment to one of Chris Matthews employees after the woman complained about sexual harassment. Two sources familiar with the situation told The Daily Caller that Matthews paid $40,000 to settle with an assistant producer on his show, “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” in 1999 after she accused him of harassment. An MSNBC spokesperson contested that claim to the Caller, saying the company instead paid significantly less as part of a severance package.

WASHINGTON - During consideration of H.R. 3126, legislation to establish a Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA), Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee voted to pass an amendment offered by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) that will make ACORN eligible to play a role in setting regulations for financial institutions. Bail was set at $1 million today for the San Francisco planning director's companion, who is accused of setting fire to historic Nob Hill residence of the fire chief where the couple were living. Lance Farber, 47, pleaded not guilty to felony arson and vandalism in a brief appearance at the Hall of Justice, shortly before Superior Court Judge John Conway set bail. "I am concerned that this is a public safety issue," the judge said. Farber was ordered to return to court Friday after being evaluated for migraine headaches. His lawyer said the headaches have worsened since Farber was...

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday said Iran bore no hatred towards the United States as he held talks with American Christians in a rare official contact with visitors from Tehran's arch enemy. State television showed Ahmadinejad meeting with a dozen American representatives from various Christian orders who are in Iran for a week-long visit to promote peace and dialogue between the foes. "The Iranian nation does not have any feeling of hatred and opposition towards the American people and we believe that all people are respectful and given the common grounds people have, they could achieve peace and justice," Ahmadinejad...

June 15, 2006 (CHICAGO) - A small fire at a Chicago Public Library on the city's North Side has burned about 100 books -- 90 of them in the gay and lesbian section. Chicago Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the fire is being investigated as an arson -- but not as a hate crime. Gay rights activist Rick Garcia questioned that decision, noting the unique location of the fire. About 10 books in the branch's African-American history collection were also burned. No one was injured in the fire. The library branch where the fire occurred is near the center of...

For the next seven weeks, the group Soulforce will test the hospitality of Christian colleges. Some schools have decided withdraw the welcome mat for the national pro-gay activist group, while others are accommodating the protesters with housing and events. Sixteen Christian colleges are preparing for the uninvited guests from what Soulforce is calling Equality Ride. The seven-week bus tour launching today will take 35 gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and straight 18- to 28-year-olds to colleges with behavior codes that Soulforce calls discriminatory. The religious schools Soulforce is protesting specifically ban homosexual behavior along with other non-marital sexual activity. Soulforce will...

Nine former fans of American Idol star Clay Aiken are forging ahead with threats to sue his record label bosses for false advertising. The one-time devotees have been shocked by recent tabloid claims the wholesome pop singer is gay and they've filed a Federal Trade Commission complain against executives at RCA and Sony/BMG, alleging they were duped in marketing and promotional campaigns. The nine-strong group, listing themselves as "aggrieved consumers," allege that employees of RCA, Sony/BMG, and Aiken himself "engaged in collusion to prevent public disclosures they believed might be harmful to their product." The angry ladies go on to...

Metrosexual California men are donning the latest in designer wear, exfoliating like there's no tomorrow and heading off to spas for seaweed wraps with increasing regularity. But the “playbook” for the metrosexual lifestyle is apparently still being written and this has left some men feeling a little confused about what is acceptable “metro” behavior. Don Ragsdale, from Los Angeles, is one such confused male and last Saturday night he inadvertently ran a play straight out of the homosexual playbook. “I initially felt a little uncomfortable with some metrosexual rituals, especially the anal waxing, but I was getting a lot of...

Tim Hart and James Lasadose skipped their senior proms this spring because they couldn't take each other. They made up for the missed experience Saturday night at "Out in the City," St. Louis' first prom for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender young people and their straight friends. Hart and Lasadose, both 18, wore matching Renaissance-style black shirts and buttons declaring, "I am loved." "My favorite part was just actually being able to be with my boyfriend," Hart said later. "Not all the time can you be in a large room with a lot of people, and be with the person...

No Name Calling Week? 1/12/2005By Warren Throckmorton, Ph.D.Yes, name-calling is wrong. But this event’s sponsors reveal the agenda behind banning it. “There is a special place in hell for people like you!” These words were directed at me by a teacher during this past summer’s National Education Association (NEA) convention in Washington, D.C. This delegate to the NEA convention made his prediction in response to my presence at the NEA’s Ex-Gay Educators’ Caucus booth in the convention exhibit hall. His cheery salutation caught me off-guard given the message of tolerance and acceptance I had been hearing around the exhibit hall....
