Firearm sales are skyrocketing in Oregon as residents rush to get ahead of Ballot Measure 114’s (BM 114) effective date of December 8, 2022. On December 1, 2022, Breitbart News reported lawsuits were filed against BM 114. For example, the Associated Press noted that the Oregon Firearms Federation, together with “a local sheriff and a gun store owner [are asking] the court to declare the law unconstitutional and issue an injunction to prevent it from going into effect next week.” The Firearms Policy Coalition is also suing in an attempt to stop implementation of the “high capacity” magazine ban contained...

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) used a Wednesday press conference to highlight new state gun controls and emphasized that talking to a would-be gun buyer’s “neighbors online” is now part of a background check. Anytime a mass shooting takes place, Democrats and members of the mainstream media make assumptions about why the gunman carried out the attack and how gun control proposals could have prevented the tragedy. The same thing happened following last week's attack in Boulder, Colorado. As the scene was unfolding, speculation took place and instant calls for anti-Second Amendment legislation were imminent. One of the biggest claims is that "universal background checks" or "enhanced background checks" could have prevented the gunman from obtaining his firearm. This is flat-out false. Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa purchased his Ruger AR-556 pistol six days before...

As many in the Firearms Community are aware, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) raided Polymer80, Inc last week and since then, there is at least one report of a customer being visited by ATF and forced to surrender their “P80.” Given what appears to be ATF’s active enforcement of its interpretive jiggery-pokery, ever changing interpretations of the Gun Control Act and implementing regulations, it is important that any individual confronted by ATF regarding this newly minted interpretation, advise the agent that he/she is surrendering the items under protest, that you do not consent to the forfeiture...

Ah… Guns. As an American, I have a distinct interest in firearms. After all, what’s the point in having a Right given to you by God if you don’t exercise it? Here, I’d like to share my thoughts on some of my dream weapons; my favorite firearms. No, I’m not talking about a “Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range” that the Terminator was looking for. But rather some firearms that I have wanted for some time, but regrettably will probably never purchase. So here’s my dream / wish list. MP-40 Let me start with one of my long time...

Dueling pistols are strange, beautiful and ironic. Gadgets to shoot each other in the face, crafted with the delicacy and decorative extravagance of expensive jewelry. They appeared in the 18th C, as faster firing versions of older, flintlock guns replaced swords. Their use dwindled in the 19th C, while duels were still fought in the Western US states. Here the less rich would engage in gouging, similarly prearranged combat, with the aim of plucking out the opponent’s eyes. Dueling pistols were designed for the upper classes, for the preservation of honor. They were used illegally by generals and poets (Pushkin was...

STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) – The sound of gunfire and someone shouting “Everybody down, everybody” shocked moviegoers sitting in the lobby of the Bow Tie Majestic 6 movie theaters Sunday night, but the incident appears to have been a juvenile prank.
