Egyptologist Bassam El Shammaa believes that the famed half-lion, half-man statue was an Egyptian deity that was erected next to another sphinx, which has since vanished without a trace. This contradicts what many have believed for centuries -- that a single colossal statue functioned as a guard to the Pyramids. The idea of two sphinxes is more in line with ancient Egyptian beliefs, which were mainly based on duality, the researcher said. He cited Ancient Egyptian records and mythology saying that lightening had destroyed part of the Sphinx. This may have been a reference to the second sphinx which was...

Ancient Egyptians may have left behind a cryptic clue to a hidden second Sphinx, carved directly into stone more than 3,000 years ago.The Dream Stele, positioned between the paws of the Great Sphinx, appears to depict two sphinx figures, hinting that the legendary monument may once have had a twin. Now, Italian researchers who, in 2025, claimed to have uncovered massive underground structures beneath the Giza Plateau believe they have identified the second guardian buried deep beneath the sands.Filippo Biondi revealed the discovery on Thursday while speaking on the Matt Beall Limitless podcast, explaining that lines drawn from the pyramids to...

A team of Italian scientists took the world by storm last March when they announced the discovery of a colossal underground complex plunging nearly 3,500 feet beneath Egypt's Giza Plateau and linking chambers the size of city blocks. Now Filippo Biondi, the radar engineer who developed the imaging method, has gone public with evidence that he said leaves little room for doubt. In a new interview on Jesse Michels' American Alchemy podcast, Biondi revealed that four independent satellite operators, Umbra, Capella Space, ICEYE and Italy's Cosmo-SkyMed, all returned identical raw tomography data showing the same structures.>>>Each shaft has a central column...

This March, I reported that using advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, scientists from Italy and Scotland claim to have discovered a vast subterranean complex stretching approximately 6500 feet beneath Egypt’s Giza Plateau. Now, these scientists claim they have located a “hidden city” or “vast underground city” discovered beneath Egypt’s Great Pyramids of Giza. According to a team of researchers from Italy and Scotland (led by Corrado Malanga from the University of Pisa and Filippo Biondi from the University of Strathclyde) advanced radar technology has revealed what they describe as a massive subterranean network connecting the pyramids of Khafre, Khufu,...

A new discovery in Egypt's Great Pyramid of Giza suggests the structure was not just a pharaoh's final resting place, but also a giant power plant. Scientists blasted the 4,600-year-old structure with electromagnetic waves, a form of radiation that travel though the universe, finding it focused and amplified the energy into specific chambers and around the base. Electromagnetic waves are used in such research because the radiation interacts with matter in unique ways, allowing experts to probe specific details about a structure's composition, arrangement and dynamics. The waves built up as energy in the King's chamber, the Queen's chamber, and...

Scientists have announced a new discovery of an underground city beneath the Egyptian pyramids. The announcement comes just months after the first reports of an underground city beneath Khafre’s pyramid, reports Metro. The latest finds, said to be located beneath the Pyramid of Menkaure, suggest the existence of a large underground complex that may connect all three pyramids at Giza. A team of researchers led by Italian scientist Filippo Biondi previously announced the discovery of columnar structures beneath the Pyramid of Khafre. According to Biondi, tomographic scans now reveal a similar structure beneath the Pyramid of Menkaure. Researchers suggest that...

A new development in the mystery of a purported city beneath Egypt's Giza pyramids could, if proven true, fundamentally reshape our understanding of human history. Italian researchers told DailyMail.com that not only are the shafts and chambers they found deep below the Khafre pyramid 38,000 years old, but also the Giza complex. >>> Biondi explained that the pre-existing civilization in Egypt built the city first, then the shafts and then the pyramid on top, creating a 'megastructure.' The salt encrustations inside the Great Pyramid, according to the team, were left behind from ocean water flowing into the structure. Colonel Howard...

I've always been fascinated by the ancient Pyramids in Egypt, wondering how and why they were built. A lot of theories exist but to my knowledge no one has been able to prove how these massive structures were constructed. If this recent announcement is verified and proven to be true, it would add another level of complexity to the construction of the Pyramids that would add to their mystery.

Archaeologists believe they have uncovered evidence of a massive underground city lying beneath Egypt’s famous Giza pyramids. Researchers from Italy and Scotland used advanced radar technology to produce detailed images from deep below the surface, revealing possible hidden structures 10 times the size of the pyramids themselves. The report highlights eight distinct vertical, cylinder-shaped formations stretching over 2,100 feet beneath the pyramids, along with a series of additional unidentified structures located another 4,000 feet further down. However, some experts remain skeptical of the claim, insisting that such a feat would be structurally impossible. -------- Mail Online reported: Professor Lawrence Conyers,...

The mystery of an 'underground city' beneath Egypt's pyramid deepens as scientists have shared new details about what may lie more than 4,000 feet below the surface. A team of Italian researchers claimed they uncovered giant vertical shafts wrapped in 'spiral staircases' and a massive limestone platform containing two enormous chambers with descending channels resembling pipelines. >>> While the bombshell claims have been dismissed by other experts as 'false' and 'exaggerated,' the team believes there is 'an entire hidden world of many structures' more than 2,000 feet below the water system 'When we magnify the images [in the future], we...
