Does anyone know of a list of American troops killed in Iraq? I'm wondering how they break down by branch of service, and by unit within a particular service. Every one I see on TV seems to be Army, but that may just be sloppy reporting. Thanks in advance.

Earlier this week, a Free Republic Blog Directory, or Blogroll, was established here on Free Republic. The goal of this effort is to spotlight key weblogs written by Freepers from a conservative, pro-Bush perspective -- and to expand Freepdom to include the fast-growing "blogosphere." Hence the name: Operation Expanding Freepdom! The response so far has been great. Here's the very latest listing of Freeper blogs, including those started as a result of the original thread. If your blog isn't on this list, REPLY TO THIS THREAD with your blog's address. Cathryn CrawfordWilliam McKinleyRegnum CrucisMichael KingFederal ReviewThe View from ArlenImalMHGinTNAnna Z.The...

  • A Notice On The Sidebars

Hi all.Occasionally, we will get abuse reports telling us that a particular article belongs in a particular sidebar, and we will go to the article and find that it already has that topic listed. Why do we get such complaints then?I believe that this is tied to a particular aspect of the forum software. Any topic can be made into a sidebar for a user's account. When accounts are set up, there is a default set of sidebars configured, but as detailed on that thread, they can be changed, reordered, have the number of articles in the sidebar specified, and...

On Friday, I wrote a piece asking why Freepers don't get more involved in reading and writing blogs to expand Free Republic's influence in a growing medium that needs more conservative, pro-Bush voices. The response was phenomenal. Click here to read the original thread, "Are Freepers Still Winning the Online War?" One of the ideas that grew out of that thread was to start a Free Republic Blog Directory, or blogroll, as bloggers call it. From time to time, we will list all Freepers with blogs on threads like this to draw attention to their fine conservative writings. All Free...

<p>1- Allegations against "Freepers" comprised many things, in an attempt to over-ride conflicting view-points on the internet. You are accused of fixing online polls, flooding opponents' email servers, and flooding internet message boards to "drown out" other opinions. What is your response to these allegations?</p> <p>2- To what extent do you believe you can expand on your personal freedom of speech in a way that can possibly impede the right of others' freedom of speech. Is it justifiable so long as you get your point across in a stronger fashion? I read in your "About" section that you're strongly supportive of freedom of speech, but how far will you go and do you believe that boundaries should be implemented?</p>

Is anyone else having problems with preferences on FR? Yesterday mine seemed to change all by themselves and will not allow me to return to the old. I want to read "Headers Only" and I get "Message Bodies" I also use a slave window which has now gone away. I have changed them untold numbers of times this weekend. Logged in and logged out. Any ideas would be appreciated.

ZAHM: What is a RINO? Wednesday, July 02, 2003 By Jon Zahm (jon@goliathslayers.com) OPINION -- A topic that has been going around the political discussion boards over the last few months is, “What is a RINO?” First, we need to understand that the general answer to this question is: “Republican in Name Only.” The more difficult posit is: How does one earn this label? My definition of a RINO is a political figure, elected or volunteer, that self-identifies as a “Republican”, but then supports candidates and position statements that are out of line with the National Republican Party Platform. That...

Welcome to FreeRepublic.com's unofficial "Computer Central"! The main purpose of FreeRepublic.com is to have discussions about government and politics. And culture, science, religion and about any subject in the 'news'. We use computers to access FR and there are articles that discuss computers. And continually, there are vanity threads with technical questions about computer problems. I've noticed that these threads get a good response from FReepers who appear to be knowledgable about computers. There are also threads such as "HTML Bootcamp" and "HTML Sandbox". I would like to suggest that FR needs a "FR Computer Central". If such a...

  • Do politicians read the U.S. Constitution?

Do politicians read the U.S. Constitution? They ignore fact that it limits what government is legally allowed to do I've finally figured out why politicians seem to be confused and utterly unaware of what the U.S. Constitution actually says. Either they never took the time to sit down and read it, or they have their own version. Note: "Politicians" includes Republicans and Democrats. Both parties are to blame for most of our current problems. Please take a few minutes and read the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. It won't take long, and if you have Internet access...

I'm always ROFL at the images used on threads around here, but don't always remember to save them for future use. Is there a way to search for the images themselves? Or is there a collection/collector to peruse? Looking specifically for the "Aw Geez Not This S*** Again" picture. Today. :-)
