  • Zimmerman Verdict Sows Racial Divisions, Arms Conservative Media (BOR is conservative?)

    The Atlanta Black Star ^ | July 24, 2013 | Nick Chiles
As the George Zimmerman acquittal and President Obama’s speech last week in reaction to it are giving racial antagonists in the conservative media like Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity plenty of ammunition to sow more controversy, two new polls demonstrate exactly how split the nation is along racial lines. While 86 percent of black people are dissatisfied with Zimmerman’s acquittal in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center, just 30 percent of whites were dissatisfied—and a much higher percentage, 49 percent, said they were satisfied with the verdict. Just 5 percent...

BillO really went after the so-called black leaders, including Obama, for ignoring the real issues that plague the black community like the breakdown of the family and the peddling of ‘poison’. He said that if they want a conversation, they’ve got one and called on them to stop blaming everything on slavery and to work on a message to begin to correct these devastating problems.

On tonight's Talking Points on The Factor, BOR just crushed liberals, rap "stars" race hustlers and the current Black Culture in general. I urge anyone who missed it to tune in later tonight on the 11PM EDT show. He pointed out that young Blacks commit 10X more murders then Hispanic and Whites combined. He mentioned the fact that over 70 percent of Black children are born out of wedlock. No father figure leads to Black youths getting involved in crime and drugs. Much more but I can't remember it all. Well worth watching.

Although they may not realize it, some supporters of the dead teenager Trayvon Martin are actually exploiting him, using his death to advance their own personal agendas. That is very disturbing when you think about it. After the acquittal of George Zimmerman, one loon out in San Francisco justified some mob-driven property damage, saying: "We have to grow a new society. A people society. Not one where Wells Fargo, the Federal Reserve, all these big banks. We need a whole new system!" A protester in D.C. said: "We don't get democracy. We get capitalism. We get white supremacy." And then...

Like Pope Benedict XVI before him, Pope Francis has decreed a plenary indulgence for the millions of pilgrims attending World Youth Day, a biennial international event planned for July 23-28 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is also extending it to those who can not make the pilgrimage in person, but participate closely through social media, including Twitter. Those seeking an indulgence must meet other usual conditions, including going to confession, receiving the Eucharist and praying for the intentions of the pope. Headlines announcing the news have ranged from “How to save your soul: in 140 characters or less” in...

Living in the shadows of the ongoing war on terror are 1,715 American military people who lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan. A few of those brave folks lost all four limbs when bombs blew apart their bodies. In addition, there are now at least 20 new amputee victims because of the brutal terror bombing in Boston. When reality sinks in and the injured realize how dependent they are without all of their limbs, often there are severe psychological consequences. Many of the soldiers and Marines who lost limbs were self-reliant achievers who lived life on their own terms. The...

Re: Your on-air bashing of Free Republic So, you think that because one poster on FR comments that a diabetic supreme court nominee might not live to a ripe old age that all 350,000 of us are insensitive right-wing loons? Got news for you pal. The owner of Free Republic (namely me) is diabetic and I've already lost one leg due to this despicable disease and the other leg looks like it's ready to fall off any day now. • Bill O’Reilly Tears Into Brian Williams For Giving Obama A ‘Pass’ On Libya

Bill O’Reilly opened his show tonight asking if recent events in Libya will lose the election for President Obama. O’Reilly appeared to be losing patience with how Obama keeps dodging questions about what happened in Libya and who told which administration officials what to say. O’Reilly also blamed the media, and Brian Williams in particular, for not actually bringing these issues up in interviews with the president. O’Reilly brought up a report that said urgent requests for backup in the Benghazi consulate were not followed up on by the CIA. During a radio interview, Obama claimed that he was not...

You know there's trouble on the left when the MSNBC people declare Mitt Romney the winner in the first presidential debate. I mean, there was wailing and gnashing of teeth on the uber-liberal cable network: Why, oh, why did our guy look so awkward? Even though we don't believe in God, we'd now like him to help our president if he can. Gov. Romney won the debate because the economy is bad and the president could not explain how he's going to make it better. The governor kept pounding President Barack Obama in the midsection, pointing out that his vision...

While both my Aunt and I watch Bill O'Reilly every weeknight, I was very disappointed to hear him say that his new book says that Oswald shot JFK...... While I will continue to watch the show because there are things I like, my confidence and trust in the things he says has been greatly diminished. You cannot shoot a man in the front from the back. There is no need to go into everything we have written about here many times before, I just thought that rather than have some of you waste your money on the book, I'd share...

I don't know about you, but my head is spinning with all the theories out there about who will win this presidential election and why. I'm as guilty of promulgating them as anyone. Ask any political consultant for a prediction on a race -- on anything really -- and we'll take you on a trip around the world. We're worse than the commentators before an NFL game: "I'll tell you, Steve, no lefthanded president who has lost the Methodist vote in Wisconsin has ever been re-elected in a year that ends with the number two..." Bill O'Reilly: Kennedy speaks — and the Catholic Church is silent On Jan. 8, 1962, President John F. Kennedy wrote a letter expressing condolences on the death of James Cardinal Gibbons. Kennedy, who rarely discussed his Catholicism, did so while describing the Cardinal: "He nobly expresses the essential traditions of my church in the United States ... the deep sympathy for the plight of the working man and of minorities, the steady concern for the betterment of society and mankind." Thus, it was somewhat startling to see JFK's daughter, Caroline, invoke her father's name and describe herself as a "Catholic...

On Jan. 8, 1962, President John F. Kennedy wrote a letter celebrating the work of James Cardinal Gibbons, who died in 1921. Kennedy, who rarely discussed his Catholicism, did so while describing the Cardinal: "He nobly expresses the essential traditions of my church in the United States ... the deep sympathy for the plight of the working man and of minorities, the steady concern for the betterment of society and mankind." Thus, it was somewhat startling to see JFK's daughter, Caroline Kennedy, invoke her father's name and describe herself as a "Catholic woman" while espousing a passionate defense of abortion...

Fifty years ago, in the summer of 1962, America was a far different place from what it is today. President John Kennedy was presiding over Camelot, and despite fouling up the invasion of Cuba, his approval rating hovered at around 80 percent. Unemployment was 5.2 percent with the average family income at $6,000 a year. Most Americans did not have much money but made do. Millions bought Elvis Presley's record "Return to Sender" and went to see "Lawrence of Arabia" in movie theaters. At home, "Wagon Train" was the top TV show. Years later, the film "American Graffiti" featured the...
