The Exploitation of Trayvon Martin
Townhall.com ^ | July 20, 2013 | Bill O'Reilly

Posted on 07/20/2013 3:39:58 AM PDT by Kaslin

Although they may not realize it, some supporters of the dead teenager Trayvon Martin are actually exploiting him, using his death to advance their own personal agendas. That is very disturbing when you think about it.

After the acquittal of George Zimmerman, one loon out in San Francisco justified some mob-driven property damage, saying: "We have to grow a new society. A people society. Not one where Wells Fargo, the Federal Reserve, all these big banks. We need a whole new system!"

A protester in D.C. said: "We don't get democracy. We get capitalism. We get white supremacy."

And then there was race. Radical priest Michael Pfleger in Chicago told his congregation: "We are not in a post-racial area. In fact, racism has a second breath in America today and (with the verdict) it got new oxygen."

So, if you believe the fringe, the reason Zimmerman was found not guilty by a jury of six women is that they are racists who want big business to dominate the country.

Makes sense to me.

And then there are the grievance folks. Talk-radio host Tavis Smiley told ABC News that it is open season on black men in this country. According to Smiley, the Zimmerman verdict is "just another piece of evidence of the incontrovertible contempt that this nation often shows and displays for black men."

Wow.

At the top, President Barack Obama used the verdict to call for stricter gun control measures. And Attorney General Eric Holder told the nation that Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law should be repealed. All of this was said in the name of a Florida teenager who died unnecessarily.

The truth is that cynical opportunists often use tragedies to their advantage. For me, the death of Martin and the subsequent prosecution of Zimmerman were lessons in confrontation, not anything else.

We live in a country where citizens must understand that intense personal interactions can lead to disaster. I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to confront somebody who was doing something wrong in my presence. But I simply can't. There are legions of sleazy lawyers lined up to attack the affluent in court. If you have money, these parasites will find a legal way to harm you. Just fighting nuisance suits can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

And then there are the unstable folks who will do you physical damage. Road rage, verbal assaults, threats -- you have to walk or drive away. It is far too risky to confront the perpetrator and "work it out."

Of course, sometimes you must stand your ground -- but not often. Zimmerman was told by a 9-1-1 operator to stay in his car. He did not. Disaster followed. It didn't have to happen.

Exploiters of the Martin case should be ashamed. For everyone else, there is one huge lesson: Avoid confrontation if you possibly can. No good can come of it.

I agree with most of what O'Reilly said except for his criticism that Zimmerman did not stay in his car. First of all the 9/11 operator had no right to tell him to stay in his car and second, it's not against the law to get out of a car and walk around in your neighborhood

"First of all the 9/11 operator had no right to tell him to stay in his car."

Amen brother. 911 operators are NOT POLICEMAN. They have no authority. None, NADA, Zip.
There are so many things not said and I am so tired of this whole mess.
Like making Travon a model citizen.. . . . . . EXCUSE ME.
He was kicked out of school & his mothers home in Miami and sent to live with his daddy and his girlfriend. THIS NEVER COMES OUT.
If mama & daddy really cared. . . . . . Oh never mind only people here would understand my point. . . .

O’Reilly also did not point out that had Martin never attacked, he would still be alive.

Why did Martin attack? Was he not socialized properly as a child? We’ll never know.

The take home message of the rioters is that if you are attacked by a black man, let him do whatever he wants with you. It’s racist to do anything else. I guess there may be an exception if you are black, then you are allowed to defend yourself.

Billy repeats the same lies that are strewn through the activist media channels. George called the NON-Emergency line because he was active in a NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH. He saw a person acting suspicious... when he told the NON-Emergency operator that he was following him the operator said, 'we don't need you to do that.'

Now why would the operator say that? Because you don't know who you are following! It could be someone who is armed and dangerous! As it turned out HE WAS! The activist media continues to call Trayvon "unarmed." But the fist and hands are DEADLY weapons when you are punching someone's nose into their brain and thrusting thier head into concrete.

GZ was never told not to get out of his truck. 911 hectored him for a street address, “around the corner from the club house” wasn’t good enough.

Many of the protestors are idiot tools for socialist/commie organizations.

The TM story is a HOAX.

Martin Family Attorney Crump hired Julison Communication. Julison created and marketed to media the Trayvon Martin image and narrative. The 5 year back-dated photo, the “white on black” narrative, all a false image created by Julison.

Crump associate Vanessa Baden created Dream Defenders, a “spontaneous student group”. Dream Defenders organized protest marches and coordinated with the NAACP, Sharpton, Jackson, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the Black Panthers. These groups and individuals engaged in a campaign of intimidation resulting in the firing of the Chief of Police, demotion of detectives, and eventually the arrest and charging of Zimmerman.

Crump has caused the production and marketing of a false narrative and a campaign of intimidation of public officials based thereon.

What kind of people trademark their son’s name and hire a PR company? What kind of people continue a false narrative of racism when the SPD and FBI determine that race was not a factor? What kind of people continue a false narrative when people are being beaten due to it?

My understanding of the chronology may be off, but I think BOR is wrong here.

Z had already gotten out of his car and was following M (at a distance) down between the buildings.

The operator told him he "didn't have to do that." Z said, "OK," stopped, turned around and headed back to his car to wait for the cops.

Shortly before he reached the car, M jumped him.

If this account is inaccurate or incomplete, I'd appreciate a correction, preferably with references.

That was the version of the story I heard as well, Now, for some reason, that little fact has seemed to have disappeared from the public record.

Dispatcher: Are you following him? Zimmerman: Yeah Dispatcher: Ok, we don't need you to do that.

Consistent with the dishonest reporting on this issue, most quotations end right here. Omitting Zimmerman's immediate response.

Zimmerman: Ok

Which at least implies that he was agreeing and stopped following.

The entire remainder of the call has nothing at all that would lead one to believe Z was continuing to follow M. It's all about how Z will meet up with the cops, etc.

I think it's reasonable to think that if he were still following, he would have made some comment indicating it.

O’Reilly also did not point out that he is as guilty of exploiting Trayvon Martin as anyone else and perhaps even more so.

Exploitation is exactly what O’Reilly is doing.

Physician heal thyself.

O’Reilly is a major league azzhole.

I think it’s also obvious from the transcript he was already out of the car when the dispatcher suggested he not follow Martin. Yet the media reporting has universally suggested she told him not to get out of his car.

“Although they may not realize it,”

Of course they realize it. They just don’t care. Like baby mama, Sybrina Fulton, trademarks Trayvon slogans.

Your son is dead. Can I cash in?

He died because his parents didn't teach him not to get into fights unless you absolutely HAVE to, because you never know what the other guy is willing to do or capable of. Fighting is only the last resort to save your own life, after the other guy started it, or gave you no possible chance to escape. Otherwise, you end up like Trayvon.

This statement from BOR and others who repeat this mantra is done to cover their own butts because they are too cowardly to admit that GZ did nothing wrong. In order to appease the race baiters, they have to make GZ partly to blame - and not only partly, but make it sound like if he had listened to the 911 dispatcher - this would have been avoided.

However, anyone who knows the truth, knows -GZ didn’t call 911, nor was he out of his truck to follow TM, but to get an address.

BOR holds himself in high esteem as more intelligent than anyone else, yet, he’s just as stupid when he relays lies.

Well, the police dispatcher didn't tell Zimmerman to stay in his car. And, the suggestion that the police dispatcher gave to Zimmerman, "we don't need you to [follow / keep an eye on Martin]," was adhered to by Zimmerman.

Martin chose confrontation. Martin chose use of force when he punched Zimmerman in the face. Martin chose to hold a screaming Zimmerman pinned to the ground for a minute.

And somehow this is Zimmerman's fault?

I agree. I always thought it was Mama & Daddy that should have been on trial, Not George. He was thrown out of Mamas house and suspended from school in Miami. . . .
But then I am a creepy old soda CRACKA! ! ! !

All of this suggests to me that the real enemy of this country is not the (pick one): Arabs, Russia, China, Iran etc. but the mass media which is filled with people who are hell-bent on destroying this nation.

The key to standing up is always being non reactive to evil within people like Travon. Then, even if we shake a little bit, we can stand our ground. George did what he had to do, but if he had been a more centered person at the time, he would have been able to take Travon down pretty easily and never would have had to pull his gun. Fhu.com teaches the US military and civilians a very effective way to become centered and strong!
