Something that never interferes with the climate change indoctrinators is facts. Since we are getting record cold, that is also caused by climate change and global warming, and that is caused by humans, according to these so-called "experts." From an article that made its way to USA Today: This week's cold snap has brought record-low temperatures, freezing rain and heavy snow to much of the United States. But 2017 is still on track to be the second- or third-hottest year ever recorded globally – and scientists say climate change is to blame[.] ... Even this week's cold weather is probably...

RENTON, Wash. (KOMO) -- A 29-year-old man suspected of shooting a woman inside a Renton theater Thursday night told detectives he brought the gun to the movie fearing a mass shooting. The incident happened at The Landing in Renton during a showing of the film "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi." It is the action-packed movie of the terrorist raid on the U.S. Embassy. About 15 minutes into the movie, a gun went off and a 40-year-old Michelle Mallari had been shot through the back of her chair. "I believe the lady in front of us that got shot...

CHARLOTTE - Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-MA) will lacerate Mitt Romney on foreign policy in a major speech tonight at the Democratic National Convention. "In this campaign, we have a fundamental choice," Kerry will say, according to speech excerpts provided to The Cable. "Will we protect our country and our allies, advance our interests and ideals, do battle where we must, and make peace where we can? Or will we entrust our place in the world to someone who just hasn't learned the lessons of the last decade?"

Sen. John Kerry has the perfect audition piece for the secretary of state job he appears to covet — the long-stalled Law of the Sea treaty. He’s come armed with a throng of industry backers and pleas from the country’s top officials. But a cadre of conservatives remains determined to sink it.

A college student pinned under a car that had crashed into his motorcycle in Brooklyn died yesterday after rescue workers struggling to free him from the wreckage dropped the vehicle on him in a tragic accident. Karam Rampersaud, 21, of Brooklyn, had been on his way to classes at City College when he collided with a Ford Taurus at 8:45 a.m. on Loring Avenue and Forbell Street in East New York. Seconds after cops and firefighters started to lift the Ford with a jack, things went horribly wrong. “The car was about four feet up,” said witness James Selder, 41....

Bats, as scary as they are to some, are one of the more useful mammals in creation. The diets of those species common in Pennsylvania consist of mosquitoes and other insect pests including the ones that damage crops. A colony of 100 brown bats can consume of a quarter-million insects in a single night. Science magazine has estimated the pest control service provided by bats can save farmers about $74 per acre. Well, the unattractive wind turbines built at the hectoring of the nature worshipers who've managed to convince most that they are the arbiters of all dogma scientific are...

Video interview by Bill Whittle at PJTV. Long (11 minutes) but interesting. Video contains statistics on number of times Islam, enemy, Muslim, enemy, Al Qaeda, etc. are used. "Shifting of the way America thinks...'there are no facts. There are no truths.'...case (for) the advisors at the senior level have connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.'"

Is the stock market setting investors up for another 2007-style ambush, or worse? Since you've been inundated lately with giddy talk from the folks on Wall Street and their dupes in the media, please excuse me if I take the other side of this issue (like I did in September 2007) and warn you that all isn't right. Let's go through a short list of some of the problems. Greece is bankrupt. And, as they say at Disneyland, it really is a small world. So even when the European Union reaches an agreement to bail out Athens, that won't stop...

As you all know, President Obama is a real man of the people. Tuesday, he dropped by a popular Virginia restaurant to grab a burger with his pal Joe. The Gateway Pundit blog pointed out that plain old ketchup didn't cut it for the president, who ordered his burger with a very special condiment:(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: All right. I'm going to have a — just your basic cheddar cheeseburger, medium well. I just want mustard, no ketchup. If you've got like a spicy mustard or something like or Dijon mustard, something like that.(END VIDEO CLIP)Dijon mustard?...

A conservative media watchdog says it's outrageous that Barack Obama is blaming a major cable news service for costing him two to three points in the polls. In a recently published interview for the New York Times Magazine, the Democratic presidential candidate said: "I'm convinced that if there were no FOX News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls. If I were watching FOX News, I wouldn't vote for me, right? Because the way I'm portrayed 24/7 is as a freak!" The Illinois senator continued, explaining that he is being typecast as "the latte-sipping, New York...

For the past several months, fate has conspired to keep me away from the computer. I haven't posted nearly as much on FR as I used to. With the holidays, though, I've had an opportunity to catch up a bit. What I found on my return is a bit disconcerting. While there's always been an element here that refuses to reason and does little more than insult Democrats and RINOs, it seems that this mentality has taken over a large portion of our membership. I've encountered more shrill, radical nonsense in the past couple of days than I had in...

Scientists have taken action to save France's feathered national emblem, le coq gaulois, by cryogenically preserving the endangered cockerel's sperm. Panic set in when it was disclosed that only 200 individuals remained, mostly owned by amateur breeders. The brightly coloured cockerel, one of France's oldest native animal species, is synonymous with French fighting spirit – at times arrogance – and is famously unleashed on to the football pitch before games involving the national side. Due to a semantic crossover, the Latin word gallus means both cockerel and Gaul and it has come to stand as a symbol of France's distant...

VIENNA, Austria - The U.N. nuclear agency said Thursday it warned the United States about the vulnerability of explosives stored at Iraq (news - web sites)'s Al-Qaqaa military installation after another facility — Iraq's main nuclear complex — was looted in April 2003. Melissa Fleming, a spokeswoman for the International Atomic Energy Agency, told The Associated Press that U.S. officials were cautioned directly about what was stored at Al-Qaqaa, the main high explosives facility in Iraq. Some 377 tons of high explosives — HMX and RDX and PETN — are now missing from the facility, and questions have arisen about...

In Sunday's Observer, Robert McCrum observed: "Today, by some margin, George W Bush is the most despised figure in America." Really? The paper sent McCrum to America to interview nine novelists about the election. That's the first mistake right there: shipping a guy 3,000 miles to take the pulse of the nation by interviewing a bunch of guys who already agree with him. One of the reasons why the Bush-despisers will be waking up stunned on the morning of November 3 is because they spend way too much time talking to each other and sustaining each other's delusions....

I guess Kerry went windsailing, or windsurfing, or whatever you call it, today. Apparently it's tricky, physically demanding, maybe dangerous (see Oregonian article about some journalist who shares this enthusiasm with Kerry). But to me, Kerry sure looks like an elitist doing it. Somehow, I don't think those photos of him on his windboard, or whatever it's called, are going to get him more votes than they lose him. Or am I totally off-base here?

NEW YORK (AP) - In his first major speech since the midterm elections, former President Clinton (news - web sites) said the Democratic Party needs to communicate clear, fresh ideas on the economy and national security if it wants to recover from election losses. Clinton's remarks came during a speech Tuesday to the Democratic Leadership Council, a national network that Clinton helped found in the 1980s to steer the party toward a more centrist image. He reflected on the mood of the party back then to look ahead to the party's next step. "We had a strategy rooted in new...
