The 2024 presidential election may have been Donald Trump’s best yet.
While white evangelicals’ strong support for the former president didn’t budge, he made sizable gains among Catholic and Hispanic voters ...
58 percent of Catholics voted for Trump over Harris this time..
In 2016, Trump won 17 percent of Hispanics. By 2020, 32 percent....this year...Trump won 45 percent while Harris won 53 percent. Trump was also able to win among Hispanic men for the first time...
White evangelicals’ margin of support for Trump stayed at 81 percent, exit polls found.... White evangelicals supported George W. Bush in 2004 by 79 percent, John McCain in 2008 by 73 percent, and Mitt Romney in 2012 by 79 percent.
They voted for Trump by 81 percent in 2016 and 76 percent in 2020 (other 2020 estimates placed the number closer to 81 percent).-

Change is one, as Harris represented more of the same.

I guess after that “Jesus Is Lord” episode at the Ho’s rally and her calling it out as being at the wrong rally, they finally figured out where the “right” rally was....LOL
Trump’s victory was the result of those who voted for him who were sick of the last 4 year disaster.
I think the Divine Intervention keeping him alive was a factor.
That Godless Indian Canadian’s
crack and attack on
those christians at her WI rally
help drive all christians people to the polls and won trump WI .
The demon media just ignored that incident but my family noticed it and were upset.
What surprised me was how many black churches, led by the AME, supported Harris and her energetic abortion stance.
Look in black churches today and you see women and very old men. Very few younger men.
Time for a moral readjustment here; return to God
Very interesting.
Thanks
Support in rural N.GA counties, heavily, heavily Evangelical, was lights out, and in these counties vote margins are 75%-80%+ Trump. Just with early voting stats, Cherokee was 111% of 2020, Gordon 116%, Gilmer 115%, Hall 108% small Pickens was 157%.
Dem Atlanta Counties were under 100% of 2020 in early voting, but MAGA red evangelical counties were generally way overboard for Trump.
Catholics went for Trump only by 58%? What the heck is wrong with Catholics?
It’s the urban vote against the rural vote.
“Trump has made it very clear that he does not really care about abortion and has moderated on it, and that didn’t keep pro-life voters away.’
Now that is a strange take. I have heard Trump speak many times and he has not made it very clear that he does not really care about abortion. He has made it clear he was instrumental in getting rid of Roe v Wade with no regrets.
And a president at this point has no authority over abortion.
Two Catholic co-workers I asked about their voting for democrats in light of the church's stand on abortion was "Because Democrats are 'for the poor'".
It didn't seem to bother them or occur to them that they were putting their souls in grave spiritual danger according to their church.
And these were faithful Catholics who were very active in their parishes.
as a Catholic i am disgusted 42% voted for her- though i’m not surprised.
Well, disregarding their theology, the problem is that many IDENTIFY as "Catholic" but do not follow the "church's" belief regarding abortion. If they did, they would make better choices in the voting booth. The RCC has been the most stalwart supporters of LIFE.
And I believe the same is true for many people who IDENTIFY as "Christian" - they are not necessarily living according to their "identity" and so, their voting behavior is more random.
Furthermore, it is my belief that when people IDENTIFY as "evangelical Christians" they DO align their votes with Christian values.
I’m glad to see this result. Restores my trust that evangelicals will ignore their more pusillanimous leaders.
It is distressing though that Catholics could vote for the baby killers. Perplexing even.
I understand that American Jews are mostly blue libs first, economically motivated family providers second, and Jews third.
But I think it is beyond discussion that one cannot be a Catholic and support abortion.
Christians are the conservative movement and voters, with the small percentages of the non-Christians we win elections.
It is true that the institutional Catholic church has taken leftist stances on social issues. Not that many Catholics pay close attention to that however. Many Catholics come from traditional democrat constituencies, so they are used to voting democrat without giving it much thought. So, 58% is a good number for Trump.
As I was saying, Catholics don’t necessarily vote the way the Church recommends. They base their votes on other considerations, and the abortion issue is one in which this is true. We have known for a long time, Catholics get abortions as frequently as nonCatholics, which just illustrates that people will do what they think they need to do. When a Catholic woman gets an abortion she does not stop being a Catholic. She becomes a Catholic in need of repentance and healing.
