Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that it would be “dumber than dirt” for China to give lethal support to Russia for the Ukraine war. Anchor Martha Raddatz said, “I want to turn to China. The U.S. says it does not have a spy balloon program, but given what has happened, are you worried that China has surpassed the U.S. in this so-called near space?”

If Courtier had used the Virgin River as a water source for the full 12-day period, Cashin said, there would have been a “high probability” that she wouldn’t have survived, because the water contains a toxic level of cyanobacteria, ABC4 reported. “If she had been drinking that water, unless she had some really high immune system, she would’ve been very, very ill and probably unable to come out on her own,” Cashin told the outlet. “She either took a lot of water with her or had another clean water source that was near here, but the Virgin River is not...

Our schools claim to teach sophisticated topics such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, the meaning of math, social emotional learning, and dozens of other buzzwords. Truth is, the schools hardly bother to teach even basic skills and foundational knowledge. Simultaneously, children are indulged and excused, which encourage the least desirable personal traits. All of which explains the answers left by teachers (on an internet forum, Quora) when asked this question: what are the most appalling things about students nowadays? “One of the big things that disappeared over the years from teenagers is common sense. Teens would do something really stupid,...

Music icon Neil Young finally acknowledged his marriage to actress Daryl Hannah — and then begged Americans to rock the vote next week. The "Harvest Moon" crooner reportedly tied the knot with the 57-year-old "Splash" actress back in August but hadn't commented on the union until casually mentioning it this week on his website. He referenced "my wife Daryl and I" in a plea to Americans to get out to the polls on Tuesday.

BOSTON, Mass. (CBS Local) – With many states dealing with record-high temperatures and massive heat waves, many people are probably sick of summer already. A new study says that your brain may hate the heat more than you do. Researchers at Harvard University have discovered that a person’s brain works 13 percent slower when it has to operate in extreme heat. According to their report in PLOS Medicine, scientists studied 44 college students living in Boston during a 2016 heat wave. That July heat wave was reportedly one of the hottest in the city’s history. 22 of the students lived...

So I am sitting here contemplating some business decisions and doing my forecasting for 2014. Suddenly it occurs to me the insurance companies must have done the same thing and expected a certain amount of customers and revenue relative to each spend. Bit...here it comes....this forecasts are crap since ObamaCare® website doesn't make it easy to acquire a customer and in fact, it impedes utilization. How are the presidents of these companies going to explain their churn and a funnel that operates more like a sieve ?

Is Mankind Getting Dumber? by Brian Thomas, M.S. * Do today’s children have lower I.Q.’s than yesterday’s? Yes, according to measurements of intellectual and emotional strength gathered from different countries and contexts. The results show the same basic decline and resist the notion that public or other forms of education are to blame. Could the cause instead lie within? Stanford University professor Gerald Crabtree thinks so. He published a pair of essays in the journal Trends in Genetics, citing new discoveries that show why the human intellect is “surprisingly fragile.”1 This biblical creation-friendly notion didn’t sit well with the authors...

TALLAHASSEE -- It appears Florida is getting an early Christmas present - more cash to build its high-speed rail line between Tampa and Orlando. U.S. Senator Bill Nelson said Thursday the U.S. Department of Transportation is sending the state $342 million for construction of the planned rail route. Word of the windfall came today from Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood during a noontime phone call with Nelson. The call came on the heels of reports that the transportation agency intended to give to Florida another huge chunk of high-speed rail money because Wisconsin and Ohio didn't want it. The newly-elected governors...

A man being booked into the Manatee County jail for violating his supervised release on a DUI charge, was slapped with another charge last week when drugs fell out of his pants. Jason Graham, 33, of Venice, was changing into his blue jail uniform on June 30 when a supervising deputy said he heard a rubber band snap as Graham pulled his pants up. A white object with a rubber band attached to it then fell out of his pants. “It is apparent that Graham had this package secured around his genital area and it popped off during the changing...

A controversial board member of Bundesbank has come under fire for claiming immigrants are making Germany ‘dumber in a simple way’. Thilo Sarrazin told a business group in Frankfurt that people arriving in the country from Turkey, the Middle East and Africa are less educated than those from other nations. The 65-year-old added: ‘There’s a difference in the reproduction of population groups with varying intelligence.’ In his speech this week, Mr Sarrazin, a former finance minister, cited what he called ‘ample statistics’ for proof. He said the fact that immigrants tend to have more children than Germans - who have...

NAPLES — Unhappy about being asked to leave a local watering hole, Naples police say a 21-year-old man took revenge: He unzipped his pants and urinated at the bar. But if his mugshot is any indicator, the rest of his plan didn’t go so swell. Police say that on Wednesday night Graham Brunson, 2060 20th Ave. N.E., was causing a disturbance at the Bayfront Inn, 495 Goodlette-Frank Road, yelling obscenities and disturbing customers at the bar, according to an arrest report. When security asked him to leave, reports say Brunson unzipped his pants and urinated at the bar. When...
