"An apparently hungry Chalmette man has been arrested for stealing a duck from a public park with the intent of cooking it up for a meal, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff`s Office said. The Sheriff`s Office said Ashmeer Tahir, 38, 3713 Juno Drive, was booked with theft of an animal Monday after someone saw him remove a muscovie duck from Sidney Torres Park in Chalmette. Matt Young, Sacramento Police Department. Police said someone saw a woman and her children playing at the pond. Soon after, the witness said, the woman took off with the duck....

Prosecutors have charged two teens in the theft of hundreds of ducks from the Yorkville Citizens Police Academy. Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis said the teens were charged Thursday and should have a court appearance later this month. The teens are not being named because they are charged as juveniles. According to police, as many as 2,500 small, yellow rubber ducks were taken from the 200 block of West Hydraulic Street in late March. The ducks were used as the main fundraiser for the Yorkville Citizens Police Academy at Hometown Days. After the theft, the ducks were scattered all...
