"An apparently hungry Chalmette man has been arrested for stealing a duck from a public park with the intent of cooking it up for a meal, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff`s Office said.
The Sheriff`s Office said Ashmeer Tahir, 38, 3713 Juno Drive, was booked with theft of an animal Monday after someone saw him remove a muscovie duck from Sidney Torres Park in Chalmette. A sheriff`s deputy found Tahir at his home with a duck inside a bucket in his van, the Sheriff`s Office said in a news release." duck

If this dude can afford to live in a house and drive a van, he can afford to go to a Chinese restaurant to satisfy his craving for a duck.
Even if he were homeless, there is no excuse for stealing a duck from a public park with the intention of eating it. There are plenty of soup kitchens in most cities where the indigent can satisfy their hunger.
It`s encouraging that a good citizen notified the authorities, whenever anybody witness animal cruelty he should call the cops.
This thief and animal abuser should be thrown in jail.
The lucky duck was taken back to the park and set free.
do we know whether or not this “Chalmet man” was even a citizen yet?
He should have gotten one of damned Canadian Geese.
Ashmeer Tahir, 38. Any idea on the origin of Ashmeer?
All that food just sitting around.
British Petroleum announced today that they will no longer hire Cajuns to help in the cleanup.
Thibodeaux, Boudreaux and Fontenot were told to clean as many brown pelicans as they could...
So far, Thibodeaux has cleaned and gutted over 56 birds while Boudreaux made the roux and Fontenot cooked the rice.
Beat me to it.
Way too many of the feathered rats.
You know, I have no problem with this at all. The guy wasn’t looking for a handout... like any enterprising hunter-gatherer, he went out and rounded up his own meal. I wish everyone on welfare would show that much initiative.
Hmmm....that sort of quacks me up. LOL

Didn't them cajuns come from up in Canada somewhere?
Profile of Obama’s economy. Obviously NPR needs to do a show on the world of hurt American’s are suffering under an uncaring, arrogant leader. But they won’t.
In Washington State, we have such a Canadian Geese problem, that we could feed the world. I heard it doesn’t taste very good, but I’m sure with the right recipe, it could taste like Chicken!
When they talk about World Hunger, what they really mean every time, is World Hunger (for your donations).
Hey I resemble that remark!
Not our local Cajun, I promise you.
Muslims have to kill SOMETHING- a duck is a start, and keeps’em in practice.
There once was a man named Ashmeer
whom all the little animals did fear
Till one day with a bucket
a duck he did pluck it
they say he’ll get out in a year
Can one really steal a wild animal?

I’ve had that problem with single-ply.
Switched to double-ply and no more ashmeer.
