Does it count as ‘sharp shooting’ if it’s birdshot? Well these guys are trying to find out. Landing three sea ducks in one fly-by,this handfull of hunters does a pretty great job of putting some duck on the table. I wonder, does sea duck taste much different from any other kind of duck? Watch as they harvest several impressive birds over the deep blue sea. Did you see the water splash around the ducks when the hunters took their shots? It look as if the bullets were hitting the duck and the area all around it on several occasions. See...

Is this a trend in hunting? Turns out this is a thing: bow hunting for ducks. Duck hunting with a bow is a huge challenge. Shooting well with a bow like this duck hunter Tim Wells, takes a lot of practice. Its amazing to see him take out several birds while they were flying. Being able to shoot a bow well makes you appreciate having a shotgun. See him in action right here.

Duck Hunter Killing time Rather than Killing Waterfowl California is typically No. 2 or 3 in terms of numbers of ducks killed each season. The only state that beats us consistently is Louisiana, home of the infamous Duck Commander crew. So to someone who doesn't speak duck, one might think that we California sportsmen kill limits every morning we slide into our waders. As avid waterfowlers know, that simply ain't the case. Our sunny California weather plays a huge role in why we don't kill limits every day at Colusa, Sutter Butte and Gray Lodge refuges. Blue bird days...

Duck hunting season is here and one method of tactics used in luring ducks to you is duck calling. Duck calling is still something of a mystery to some. You've burned countless hours practicing with your call in the truck, watching instructional Youtube videos, and making, well, noise out in the marsh. Occasionally, your calling results in a fly-by that's close enough for a pass shot. But that's not what you're after. You've seen good callers command ducks into the decoys-and that's what you want to learn to do yourself. This list of tips, compiled with the help of top...

Waterfowlers have proven to be some of the most resourceful of all sportsmen throughout history, with their combined approach of calling, decoying, and plain old woodsmanship. Here are six old-school tips worth remembering as you prepare to hit the water for ducks and geese this fall. Add motion - Before motion decoys, hunters used jerk strings and pumped their legs in the water to send ripples through their spread. Another great trick is to mount an electric trolling motor to your blind or on a wood frame painted to blend in, set it near your spread, and let the propeller...

An angry-sounding New York Sen. Hillary Clinton blasted the White House yesterday for failing to disclose details about Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting accident over the weekend, complaining that Bush administration officials were stonewalling on "legitimate requests for information." "The refusal of this administration to level with the American people on matters large and small is very disturbing, because it goes counter to the way our constitutional democracy . . . is supposed to work," said Mrs. Clinton, who has claimed in the past to have duck hunting experience herself. The top Democrat - who as first lady withheld subpoenaed...

Fetching support for old dogs By: ROBERT SLOAN, The Enterprise 02/02/2006 Jacky Franklin and his hunting partner of 13 years, Tyler, are all smiles after another day afield. When you combine dog years with actual human years, you get a pretty good idea of what a 10- to 13-year-old Labrador retriever must feel like when it gets the command to jump into cold water and swim out through mud and muck to get a duck. I hadn't really given that much thought until recently when my own lab, Big Nose Kate, slowed up on her enthusiasm to make a retrieve....

"Late Show" host David Letterman joked last night that you could tell Hillary Clinton is eyeing the White House because she's already been spotted duck hunting. "The rumor is that Hillary Clinton is running for president in 2008," he told his audience. "Yup. And here's why people think that. Today she was in Ohio duck hunting. She even bought a camouflage pants suit. " But the former first lady is already one jump ahead of the "Late Night" host, who apparently didn't know that two years ago, when Clinton was campaigning in the midterm elections, she invoked her credentials as...

The Liberals' gun registry program was pointed at Kim Campbell, not crime. That's why it shot itself in the foot, says former justice adviser JOHN DIXON By JOHN DIXON Wednesday, January 8, 2003 – Print Edition, Page A11 We now know that the government's gun-control policy is a fiscal and administrative debacle. Its costs rival those of core services like national defence. And it doesn't work. What is less well known is that the policy wasn't designed to control guns. It was designed to control Kim Campbell. When Ms. Campbell was enjoying a brief season of success in her re-election...
