I normally wouldn't think much about a politician saying this, but the look on his face gave me pause. Not that my opinion matters, but personally I am not usually an apocalyptic thinker, I think we must focus on repenting and confronting our sins for salvation regardless of world events. • Radioactive Plume to Hit U.S. On Friday (President will be in South America avoiding Plume) - Vanity

One thing is for sure. The president of the U.S. will not perform his job, he will not gather the proper experts together to formulate a best guess on the radiation heading our way. And he will not hold a press conference. Instead, he's heading down to South America, well out of the way of the radiation plume heading our way. If his wife and kids go with him, then you know it's going to be far worse than they are letting on.

OK FReepers, I hope someone can debunk this whole thing I'm about to throw out there. I recently was on another web site doing some reading when someone posted a link to a YouTube video about the newly discovered comet Elenin. Well, it was kind of a conspiracy video with a woman talking about her visions of catostrophic earth changes associated with the arrival of this comet. The more I dig the less there seems to be available conserning this comet. There is some very interesting conspiracy videos on YouTube though suggesting a coverup. When I do a google news...

  • Woman reports dozens of dead birds in her yard (Kentucky)

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. — Near her car, a dead bird. A quick walk to her mailbox, another. Scattered across her front yard, a local woman discovered dozens of dead birds. "I've never seen anything like it. Never," Sandy said of the discovery. Sandy, who asked we not share her last name, first noticed the birds several days ago but cleaned them up, not thinking twice. "I have outdoor pets and just assumed they were bringing them from around the neighborhood." But when she noticed more birds Monday morning, she panicked, "I had just seen the story on the news about the...

QUADRANTID METEOR ALERT: Earth is about to pass through a narrow stream of debris from shattered comet 2003 EH1, source of the annual Quadrantid meteor shower. "Peaking in the wee morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 4, the Quads have a maximum rate of about 100 per hour (varies between 60 and 200)," says Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office. "What makes this year so special is that the Moon is New on the night of the peak, so there will be no interference from moonlight." PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE: After the meteor shower, observers in Europe, northern Africa, the Middle...

CNN) -- Arkansas game officials hope testing scheduled to begin Monday will solve the mystery of why up to 5,000 blackbirds fell from the sky just before midnight New Year's Eve. The birds -- most of which were dead -- were found within a one-mile area of Beebe, about 40 miles northeast of Little Rock, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said. The blackbirds fell over about a one-mile area, the commission said in a statement. As of Saturday, between 4,000 and 5,000 blackbirds had been found dead, said Keith Stephens with the commission. "Shortly after I arrived, there were...

By Andrea Thompson updated 12:20 p.m. MT, Tues., March. 25, 2008 A vast ice shelf hanging on by a thin strip looks to be the next chunk to break off from the Antarctic Peninsula, the latest sign of global warming’s impact on Earth's southernmost continent. Scientists are shocked by the rapid change of events. Glaciologist Ted Scambos of the University of Colorado was monitoring satellite images of the Wilkins Ice Shelf and spotted a huge iceberg measuring 25 miles by 1.5 miles that appeared to have broken away from the shelf.

I wonder if the doomsday clock will go nuclear now that it's McCain/Hillary in 2008. That gives either one of them 4 years to really mess up in the final war which is upon us. Perhaps 2012 is "more real" than we think.

Global warming is forecast to set in with a vengeance after 2009, with at least half of the five following years expected to be hotter than 1998, the warmest year on record, scientists reported on Thursday. Climate experts have long predicted a general warming trend over the 21st century spurred by the greenhouse effect, but this new study gets more specific about what is likely to happen in the decade that started in 2005. To make this kind of prediction, researchers at Britain's Met Office -- which deals with meteorology -- made a computer model that takes into account such...

  • Planet enters 'ecological debt' (eating the planet)

Rising consumption of natural resources means that humans began "eating the planet" on 9 October, a study suggests. The date symbolised the day of the year when people's demands exceeded the Earth's ability to supply resources and absorb the demands placed upon it. The figures' authors said the world first "ecological debt day" fell on 19 December 1987, but economic growth had seen it fall earlier each year. The data was produced by a US-based think-tank, Global Footprint Network. The New Economics Foundation (Nef), a UK think-tank that helped compile the report, had published a study that said Britain's "ecological...
