  • An Open Letter to the Folks Who Fact Check Gun Reporting at the Associated Press

This is what happens when people who do not know anything about guns write news stories about guns. The Associated Press has issued a correction regarding its reporting on the biker gang shootout in Waco, Texas. Here is their statement: In a story June 6 about a shootout involving bikers in Waco, The Associated Press reported erroneously that witnesses said the sound of semi-automatic gunfire dominated the shootout. They said the shootout was dominated by what sounded like short bursts of automatic gunfire. The AP also erroneously reported that a semi-automatic weapon can shoot more bullets in less time than...
  • This Is No Time for Partisan Politics: Vote on Loretta Lynch Now | Commentary

More than 150 days ago, President Barack Obama nominated Loretta Lynch as the next U.S. attorney general following Eric Holder’s decision to step down. More than 48 days ago, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to confirm Lynch as the top law enforcement official in the nation. And yet, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., still refuses to schedule a vote. At a time when key issues important to the American people like protection of voting rights, law enforcement accountability/reform and oversight of numerous areas demand leadership, McConnell and many in his party are stalling.
  • Bill Nye's unscientific approach to climate change in Jackson, WY

Nye's tweet apparently suggests that climate change is to blame for the supposed lack of snow on the slopes around Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Michelle Malkin and JunkScience.com have already debunked much of this tweet, the latter by showing that Nye's picture was not of Jackson Hole, but instead of Jackson – and the former by illustrating that there was anything but an absence of snow in Jackson Hole.

President Obama's refusal to identify who our enemy is only makes him a symbol of weakness in the violent Islamic world, and his timid reticence to deal with the ISIS situation with the force required to destroy them will not save lives. The longer the situation festers, the more powerful ISIS grows and a bigger danger they become to every human being on the planet.

This week Bill Nye, “The Science Guy” was the latest casualty of the Gore Effect. He gave an interview to MSNBC discussing global warming while much of the country was in a deep freeze. But he strategically chose to use the term “climate change” rather than “global warming” in light of record breaking cold temperatures this week.

Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio is not distancing himself from Rev. Al Sharpton anytime soon. De Blasio’s office announced on Saturday he will be giving a speech on Monday at the National Action Network’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Policy Forum. The event is taking place in Manhattan.

In the pursuit of utopia where there are never any hurt feelings, America’s wealthy, cosseted college campuses have given birth to the nonsense concept of microaggression, typically employed to denounce as “racist” anything someone (usually of a “protected class”) doesn’t like. The beauty of the concept is that the purported perpetrator doesn’t have to be conscious of and have any intention of bigotry.

A Staten Island grand jury’s decision not to indict the New York City police officer responsible for the homicide of Eric Garner sparked nationwide protests and has provoked an escalating confrontation between the NYPD and the city’s mayor. On Monday, a Reuters report indicated that a New York City judge will hear arguments over whether those sealed grand jury deliberations should be released to the public.

The year just ended saw one leftist narrative after another collapse under the weight of reality, and the Republicans still sucking their thumbs, turning the other cheek, and failing to effectively respond. My online friend, hit and run, characterized the usual political dialogue:

21,000 new regulations have been enacted under Obama, and 2,375 are scheduled so far for 2015. Congress does not have the power to stop this avalanche, and can do very little to slow it down. The sad and frustrating part of this “government gone wild” scenario is that it is highly doubtful any of these regulations can be rescinded or fixed before they potentially cause significant permanent damage to our individual freedoms, to say nothing of how they will negatively impact our day-to-day lives. This is how Obama’s “fundamental change” of America is accomplished.

All lives don't really matter. Just ask a Hollywood starlet like Gwyneth Paltrow. She'll quickly remind you of your insignificance. She once quipped, "I am who I am. I can't pretend to be someone who makes $25,000 a year." And, please, don’t mistake Michelle Obama for a commoner. For her, it's an act of patent racism to fail to recognize her golden nimbus, to force her descent from Olympian divinity by asking her to grab a box of detergent form the top shelf. Or, consider the Left's newest saint in the diabolical pantheon of race, Michael Brown. The Left has...

Actor Liam Neeson’s Taken series is known for its high-octane and suspenseful approach to handling international kidnappers. However, the first two chapters of what has now become a trilogy are not known for portraying Europe in a very positive light.

It has been extremely troubling, watching the left's narrative/lie – that blacks are routinely murdered by cops – allowed to grow and gain momentum. Not only has this deplorable, divisive narrative/lie gone unchallenged, but it has been insidiously nurtured by the mainstream media, Al Sharpton, the DOJ's Eric Holder, and President Obama.

The Occupy movement and other leftist groups are attempting to use the anti-cop furor for a “die-in” and “shutdown” protest targeting Fox News and the New York Post. The demonstration is scheduled for Jan. 2 at New Corporation’s Midtown Manhattan headquarters, with invitations posted at Occupy-affiliated Facebook pages. The invitation reads: “As many already know The NY POST is a newspaper that is owned and controlled by the Right Winger Rupert Murdoch, who in essence is a corporate racist that continually supports and disseminates racist, classist, sexist and all forms of pro 1% misinformation through his NY POST newspaper as...

Most of the people of the world have concluded that the decades of warnings about “global warming” and its successor, “climate change”, is just idiotic nonsense. Few believe that humans ever had or ever will have any role in what the weather will be tomorrow or a thousand years from now. They are right. One of the most distinguishing factors about the Anthropogenic Global Warming theory has been the way its advocates have always predicted major changes decades into the future. When the future arrived, as it has since the first doomsday predictions were made in the late 1980s, they...

Electric cars are often touted as the most environmentally friendly vehicles out there, but the devil is always in the details. While charging tends to be the focus of environmental assessments, the entire life cycle of the vehicle needs to be considered.

President Barack Obama said many police officers have a "subconscious fear" of people "who look different," which is a "national problem that will require national solutions." In an interview with BET about race relations, Ferguson and Eric Garner's death in which Obama said that racism and bias are "deeply rooted" in America, Obama said "consequences can be deadly" when people are not being treated fairly.
