A Staten Island grand jury’s decision not to indict the New York City police officer responsible for the homicide of Eric Garner sparked nationwide protests and has provoked an escalating confrontation between the NYPD and the city’s mayor. On Monday, a Reuters report indicated that a New York City judge will hear arguments over whether those sealed grand jury deliberations should be released to the public.

From the protestors: "Yeah, now that whitey's had time to doctor them up to make it look like eric was the bad guy." Liblogic. And you'll never convince them that they haven't been altered.

Those are supposed to be secret. What the hell, right? Judges are ignoring the law everywhere these days.

I wonder if this is the reason for the 3pm news conference?

It won't matter. The narrative promoted and sold by the media is already out. This version like the media's version of the Ferguson and Zimmerman cases is what 99%of the public at large believes happened.

If you want to test it, ask people you come in contact with if they have heard of George Zimmerman, Michel Brown, or Eric Garner and see what they tell you.

Anyone remember about 35 years ago when the news media took on an anti-GRAND JURY attitude? Even TV scripts from that time became anti-GRAND JURY for a while.

Any specific case(s) or event(s) that led to this?

With Holder throwing all of the criminals out of prison, I don’t see why we can’t start throwing some of these lawless “judges” in to fill those empty bunks.

This rubs me the wrong way, big time:

The disclosure of the deliberations in this case might either reinforce or scuttle the notion perpetuated by some of the cable news landscape’s agitators slash legal analysts that the grand jury was tainted by the introduction of too much evidence by the Staten Island prosecutor.

Heaven forbid that the jurors be given all relevant information. Trials are supposed to be rigged and all for political show. Right? Right??

I think it was Mark Twain that said, “A lie will be half way around the world before the truth can get it’s pants on.”

***Any specific case(s) ***

I can’t remember any but I do remember lots of ink being spilled on how i you wave your rights to not speak if you even give them your name. I do remember one case where the person called simply kept stating his 5th amendment right till the judge dismissed him and moved for immunity for testimony.

Then all of a sudden the anti Grand Jury press disappeared.

Who in their right mind would want to be on a Grand Jury for a major publicity case, if you knew your deliberations would be made public, and that your name and address could very well be leaked? Not me. No way.
