I know from personal experience at National Public Radio that white liberals can be very intolerant if they suspect they are dealing with a black person who is not afraid from depart from liberal orthodoxy.

Geez juan. You choose to remain a champion of these asshats even though they make such comments about you behind closed (now opened wide) doors. Typical of the clintoon comment about the lyin' king only being the coffee boy a few years ago. We ALL know what hypocrites the libs are. They just don't see it themselves. Or admit it in any case.

At one time in the great past of radio, if you were anything but a ‘yiddish socialist cheering for the re-investigation to clear the Rosenburgs’, you were less than a mollusk. And that came from a broadcast over NPR/NYC!!

Since I love Classical Music, I used to listen to the one Classical Music radio station in South Florida while driving in my car. However, it was affiliated with NPR, and during the Iraq War, they started infiltrating the broadcast with anti-war songs from the 60’s and “Commentary” that I found truly offensive.
I will not listen to that station anymore, and have rigged up my ipod nano to play my choices as i drive around. Now i mix it up...Classical, Classic Rock, Jazz, and my own compositions, with NO “Pete Seeger” crapola!
NPR is dead to me! :-)

State-sponsored radio (NPR) died for me during Indecision 2000 when they beat the anti-Bush drum, then it became UNdead on 9-11 after their constant anti-US beat.
The GOPe could have defunded this waste of money, but being as they are (strutless, gutless and nutless) of COURSE they didn’t...

Indeed. I am SO with you!
PBS and NPR had such a wonderful opportunity to be a terrific resource for all, funded by donations, uncluttered by advertising, unbeholding to corporate interests, and free to play things that were not in the mainstream, like Classical Music, Broadway, Plays, Shakespeare, Educational Programming, Documentaries, etc.
They would have been beloved, and supported by those who enjoyed their programming. They could have been a refuge from agenda-driven propaganda that is promoted by the networks, Unsullied by Politics, and free from stupid advertising that interrupts and controls regular TV and radio.
They coulda BEEN somebody!
But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......

“Accept Caesar’s coin, do Caesar’s bidding”.
Although as willing and eager New Socialist Men And Wymmyn, the apparatchiks at NPR would have done Caesar’s bidding for free.
