State-sponsored radio (NPR) died for me during Indecision 2000 when they beat the anti-Bush drum, then it became UNdead on 9-11 after their constant anti-US beat.

The GOPe could have defunded this waste of money, but being as they are (strutless, gutless and nutless) of COURSE they didn’t...

Indeed. I am SO with you!

PBS and NPR had such a wonderful opportunity to be a terrific resource for all, funded by donations, uncluttered by advertising, unbeholding to corporate interests, and free to play things that were not in the mainstream, like Classical Music, Broadway, Plays, Shakespeare, Educational Programming, Documentaries, etc.

They would have been beloved, and supported by those who enjoyed their programming. They could have been a refuge from agenda-driven propaganda that is promoted by the networks, Unsullied by Politics, and free from stupid advertising that interrupts and controls regular TV and radio.

They coulda BEEN somebody!

But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......
