The American people are now finally beginning to realize the fact that "Democrat" actually stands for "Demonic bureaucrat," rather than having anything whatsoever to do with "democracy." Let me quickly set a beautiful recent illustration for you: Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick had just been asked by an interviewer about the Glenn Beck 8/28 "Restoring Honor" rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. He was asked, "Are you troubled that it was there when it was and where it was?" And Democrat Deval Patrick, the author of the "Just Words" speech that Obama pirated with such stunning success that it...

Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts said in response to the Glenn Beck ‘Restoring Honor’ rally that it’s a free country, and that he’s not all that happy about that fact. Patrick said “It’s a free country, I wish it weren’t. The clip was posted by Michael Graham from Boston’s WTKK in which the Gov. was answering a question about the rally.

Deval Patrick on Beck Rally: 'It's a Free Country. I Wish It Weren't.' BY Mary Katharine Ham September 2, 2010 10:20 AM In this episode of "Better Know Your Democratic Governor," longtime Obama ally (and speech donor) Deval Patrick seems to commit a Kinsleyan gaffe when asked about the Glenn Beck rally held on the Mall August 28. The rally faced criticism from liberals, particularly black leaders who believed it was inappropriate to hold it on the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. Most of those liberals were wise enough not to question Beck's right...

Gov. Deval Patrick says the Lincoln Memorial is "sacred ground" to him, so he wishes Fox News commentator Glenn Beck had not held a rally there. Yet the Democrat says, "It’s a free country," and, "You got to respect that freedom."

The campaign of Republican Charles D. Baker, under pressure from the Democratic Party, has abruptly deleted an online photo of a supporter wearing a T-shirt that compares President Obama to Hitler. Governor Deval L. Patrick's campaign aides jumped on the issue earlier this morning, asserting that the presence of the photo of the woman wearing the T-shirt -- which has pictures of Obama and Hitler and a swastika -- is further indication that Baker is courting his party's fringe elements. The wording on the shirt says: ''HITLER gave good speeches and had his own symbol too.'' Next to Obama's photo...

Massachusetts' strug gle to make "universal health insurance" work continues to be an excellent peek at what the entire nation faces when ObamaCare kicks in -- and the picture remains ugly. Gov. Deval Patrick has just reached a truce with three of the four top insurers in the state, compromising on this year's rate hikes for the small-business and individual markets. Plus, the state last week passed a law allowing some small businesses to form cooperatives to bargain jointly for health plans. But the numbers still don't add up. When the Bay State passed its health-reform law in 2006, 9...

Here is a video report on Gov. Jan Brewer’s attendance at the National Governor’s Association Meeting in Boston, as well as plans to protest her by liberal open borders activists there. Democrat Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has criticized the Arizona illegal-Immigration Law, but said he is not worried about potential protests against Brewer.

A state authority voted this week to mandate the use of union workers on a $750 million overhaul of the University of Massachusetts Boston campus, a contentious decision already making waves in the race for governor. The remaking of the campus is a rare mega-project in what remains a sluggish economy for builders. Groups supporting nonunion contractors say the move is anticompetitive, politically motivated, and costly. Supporters of the union-only rule, including Governor Deval Patrick, say it will guarantee a higher quality workforce and eliminate the risk of union strikes, thus diminishing the potential for slowing down the complex overhaul...

It's madness. This weekend a swarm of politicians from Gov. Deval Patrick on down and major prominent corporations march in (and sponsor) the "Gay Pride Parade". They will be honoring "Grace" Sterling Stowell as Grand Marshall of the parade. Stowell is a man who wears women's' clothes and runs a homosexual / transgender "youth" group which targets public school children. He also works with kids in the public schools as a leading member of the Massachusetts Commission for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth. Stowell runs BAGLY, the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Youth. BAGLY describes itself...

On May 22nd, Massachusetts Governor Patrick embraced the radical leadership of the Muslim American Society (MAS), including Imam Abdullah Faarooq who told followers they must "pick up the gun and the sword" in response to the arrests of local Islamic extremist Aafia Siddiqui and terror suspect Tarek Mehanna.

Governor Deval Patrick, even as he decried partisanship in Washington, said today that Republican opposition to President Obama’s agenda has become so obstinate that it “is almost at the level of sedition.” The Democratic governor, who is close to the president, made the comments at a forum at Suffolk Law School's Rappaport Center, where he was asked by an audience member about partisan battling in Congress.

n his largest meeting with Boston-area Muslims, Gov. Deval Patrick agreed yesterday to take aim at ensuring their rights and addressing racial profiling. The session came little more than a week after two Bay State Muslims were arrested in a raid following an attempted car bombing in Times Square in New York... Have law enforcement agency heads and others meet with Muslims to discuss the need for cultural awareness training. Designate a liaison to the Muslim community. Urge the public and private sectors to accommodate Muslims’ religious... Beginning his comments in Arabic by saying, “Hello, how are you. I speak...

The predictable consequences of forcing companies to sell healthcare insurance to people with pre-exisiting conditions are unfolding. On Tuesday, American Thinker reported that a mere two weeks after President Obama signed ObamaCare into law, one result was that Massachusetts Democrat Governor, Deval Patrick, "rejected 235 of 274 insurer requests for premium increases for individuals and small businesses over the coming year" -- requests made by that state's three largest nonprofit insurers, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, and Tufts Heath Plan. Later in the week, the insurers simply stopped selling policies. According to the Wall Street Journal, three of the...

This is sort of similar to the bill that Mitt Romney, the Republican governor and now Presidential candidate, passed in Massachusetts," President Obama said in a recent interview defending his national health-care plan—and few disagree, Mitt Romney excepted. So the Massachusetts preview of ObamaCare is all the more instructive after this week's imposition of de facto price controls on its remaining private insurers. On Thursday, Democratic Governor Deval Patrick's insurance regulators announced that they had rejected 235 of 274 insurer requests for premium increases for individuals and small businesses over the coming year. This power has been on the books...

Making good on Governor Deval Patrick's promise to reject health insurance rate hikes deemed excessive, the state Division of Insurance this morning turned down 235 of 274 increases proposed by Massachusetts health insurers for small businesses and individuals. The ruling, stemming from emergency regulations the governor put in place in February, marks the first time state government in Massachusetts has used its authority to deny health premium increases. It is expected to have wide ramifications in the health care industry and in the gubernatorial campaign, where Republican challenger Charles Baker already has criticized rate caps. Insurance Commissioner Joseph G. Murphy...

A dire warning from Bay State medical-device companies that a new sales tax in the federal health-care law could force their plants - and thousands of jobs - out of the country has rattled Gov. Deval Patrick, a staunch backer of the law and pal President Obama. “This bill is a jobs killer,” said Ernie Whiton, chief financial officer of Chelmsford’s Zoll Medical Corp., which employs about 650 people in Massachusetts. Many of those employees work in Zoll’s local manufacturing facility making heart defibrillators. “We could be forced to (move) manufacturing overseas if we can’t pass along these costs to...

Gov. Deval Patrick says he’s “open” to doing battle in the lion’s den of conservative talk radio as he struggles for traction in his re-election bid - and the Hub’s hottest hosts say they’re ready to rumble. Patrick has long refused to enter the studios of right-wing talkers who mercilessly mock him to the delight of their listeners. He’s had a change of heart as the polls tighten, declaring to the Herald, “In the last campaign, I was all over anybody who would take me, and I will do the same this time. “I’m proud to be a Democrat. But...

Governor Deval Patrick is seeking sweeping authority to review and reject rates charged by hospitals, physician groups, medical imaging centers, and insurers, in a broad new effort to make health care more affordable, particularly for smaller companies and their workers. A 40-page bill filed by the governor yesterday proposes to give the insurance commissioner the power to essentially cap health care price increases. Rates hospitals and other health providers charge insurers would be “presumptively disapproved as excessive’’ if they increased faster than the level of medical inflation, and they could be rejected after a public hearing. Similarly, for health insurance...

Natural experiments are rare in politics, but few are as instructive as the prototype for ObamaCare that Massachusetts set in motion in 2006. The bills for "universal coverage" are now coming due, and it appears the state political class is prepared to do lasting damage to one of America's top-flight health-care systems. Last month, Democratic Governor Deval Patrick landed a neutron bomb, proposing hard price controls across almost all Massachusetts health care. State regulators already have the power to cap insurance premiums, which Mr. Patrick is activating. He also filed a bill that would give state regulators the power to...

Deval Patrick is a disaster. A perfect prototype of the same disaster going on in Washington. Why, his good friend Barack Obama even lifted the same campaign slogans and promises. And the land of the gullible bought the idea that one party rule would lead to bipartisanship, better government, and lowed deficits and taxes. Surprise!
