Before I get to the embarrassment of the nasty, bitter State of the Union display by the Democratic Party, let me lead with great news. First, the jobs front. Wednesday morning saw the release of ADP/Moody’s Analytics private payrolls report. New job creation exploded once again under President Trump. Businesses added 234,000 jobs in January versus an expected 185,000. Manufacturing added 12,000 jobs and construction 9,000 new jobs - in a traditionally slow month. WOW. They said he was unstable. They said he was dangerous. Well, that narrative that the liberal media has been crafting for weeks was torpedoed in about 90 minutes last night when President Donald J. Trump delivered his State of the Union address. Liberals were already going apoplectic over it, with more than a few suggesting that no matter what he says—it’s not presidential. Amid the tantrum came one of the most appalling displays by an opposing party in recent memory. They scowled as President Trump touted soaring jobs numbers, sat stone-faced when he honored veterans, and one even walked out after becoming triggered by a patriotic chant. Democrats at President Trump's first State of the Union, after a year of partisan rancor, showed they were in no mood to accept his call for bipartisanship. The stats don't lie. Within minutes of President Donald Trump's first State of the Union speech, CBS News revealed their YouGov poll approval ratings on it. Unsurprisingly, 97% of Republican speech watchers liked it. More surprisingly, 72% of Independents liked it. Staggeringly, 43% of Democrats liked it. Overall, CBS reported that 75% of Americans approved of the speech. For such a seriously divisive and polarising President, who is currently languishing with just 39% personal approval ratings, these were sensationally good results. The Washington Post changed its front page headline for President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address Tuesday evening after liberals erupted in anger. The paper tweeted roughly one hour before Trump’s speech a picture of the Wednesday edition, featuring a frontpage headline that read, “A call for bipartisanship.” Readers responded with vitriol, calling out the newspaper for printing a headline it “will regret tomorrow,” along with a host of other negative comments.

As applause broke out, so did chants of “USA! USA! USA!” Gutierrez left his seat as several Democrats patted him on the arm as he retreated to a safe space.

With many of them clad in black, the Democrats who did show up to President Trump’s first State of the Union address Tuesday night were not happy about it. In fact, they seemed so focused on opposing everything he said they couldn’t even bring themselves to applaud things that are normally considered bipartisan.They set the tone for their behavior that evening right away, by refusing to stand to greet Trump and many even first lady Melania Trump.The resistance continued, with most Democrats also refusing to applaud:- job creation- higher wages- lower African American and Hispanic unemployment rates- bonuses for employees-...
