They scowled as President Trump touted soaring jobs numbers, sat stone-faced when he honored veterans, and one even walked out after becoming triggered by a patriotic chant.
Democrats at President Trump's first State of the Union, after a year of partisan rancor, showed they were in no mood to accept his call for bipartisanship.
"Why are @TheDemocrats not applauding job growth, higher wages and the drop in Latino and African-American unemployment?" pollster Frank Luntz asked in a tweet. "I thought economic success is good for everyone regardless of party."
Rep. Luis Gutierrez walked out after chants of "USA, USA!" erupted in the House chamber of the Capitol Building. After the speech, the Illinois Democrat quipped that, "whoever translated it for him from Russian did a good job."
Afterward, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said Trump’s call for unity, after a year of “divisive actions, petty insults and disgraceful race-baiting … ring hollow.”
The Congressional Black Caucus led the opposition, as expected. The roughly 45-member, all-Democrat group vowed early Tuesday to show their discontent with Trump's policies and his reported derogatory remarks about African nations.

This was going to happen no matter what. The only thing left to the dems is pouting. Judging from the one who landed in a UFO, nancy pelosy, they are very good at it.
Pelosi was the chief sour puss of group... democrats are such a downer.

They mean unity with the Flake-McCain Wing of the GOP.
These un-American hypocritical democRATS lost their credibility long ago. They have HATED this president with all their being and have colluded to bring him down at all cost. In fact, they hate Trump far more than they love our country. Nuff said.
Do they say, "If you strongly disagree with one of your fellow students who wins a Student Council election, don't even listen to him/her when he talks to your student body. Just sit there with you face and body language saying, 'I hate you!'"
The Trump Train pulled out of the station headed to Make America Great Again, and the Democrats just stood on the platform and watched it go by.
The better optics were of a scowling Pelosi, whipping around to scold fellow Dems, looking like Trump just won the game of "Pin the Sphincer on the Donkey".
UPDATE: According to his spokesman, Gutierrez was not protesting the "USA" chant, but left early to make it on time to an interview.
If President Trump succeeds the democrats cannot regain power - That's why.
Democrats are trying the same scam they used on George W. Bush: Destroy and discredit the president.
But it isn't working.
Bush laid down for the democrats and didn't fight back.
But President Trump is no George Bush.
He doesn't take their crap - he caries the fight to the democrats.
Democrats never had much of a stomach for good news it’s why they never offer it misery and taxes are their high.
Those who watched this live, for the most part, saw the Democrat “leadership” being horses’ patooties. I would be surprised if even rational Democrat folks were impressed. It seems to me the Democrat party has three priorities, supporting dismemberment of 20 plus week old infants in the womb, potential illegal immigrant voters, and supporting sexual licentiousness of all kinds. It would seem to me these are subgroups that make up a small portion of voters and not a winning strategy.
I will always remember back when Rush had his TV show and he played a video of environmentalists protesting near the White house with a giant inflatable beaver. They refused to leave when asked to. As LEOs poked a hole in the beaver, protestors shouted, “You’re hurting the beaver!”
The Dims’ actions last night and today are just as silly and laughable.
Word is that Gutierrez is leaving...
