Governor Kate Brown issued the following statement today with elected officials and community leaders: “As elected officials and community leaders, we are coming together to condemn the acts of violence in Portland that have occurred as thousands of Oregonians have been peacefully protesting for racial justice and police accountability. “The violence must stop. “There is no place for white supremacy or vigilantism in Oregon. All who perpetrate violent crimes must be held equally accountable. “Together, we are committing ourselves to do the hard work that will bring meaningful change for racial justice and police reform.”

Yesterday, we reported on the Chick-fil-A controversy that has been brewing across the country. Well, it looks like this story's heating up a bit. As the mayors of Boston, Chicago and San Fran all demanded for the organization to get the hell out of Dodge, our urban boss, Mr. Michael R. Bloomberg, took the side of the fast-food chain that echoes its $2 million worth of donations to anti-same-sex-marriage groups. " Apparently, the Kerry campaign sent out an urgent e-mail last week to supporters asking them to protest the showing. After being threatened with litigation, the theater owner decided not to show the film. Local Philadelphia radio station 1210 WPHT 1210-AM had been sponsoring the event.
