Google Deepmind's new framework AlphaProof Nexus has autonomously solved nine out of 353 open Erdős problems it attempted, including two questions that had gone unanswered for 56 years. The system also proved 44 out of 492 open conjectures from the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (OEIS), settled a 15-year-old question about Hilbert functions in algebraic geometry, and improved a known bound in convex optimization. Inference costs ran just a few hundred dollars per problem, according to the research paper. Unlike (potentially) pure natural-language approaches such as OpenAI's recent solution, the underlying language model in AlphaProof Nexus—in this case Gemini 3.1...

Mustafa Suleyman - known to friends and colleagues as 'Moose' - has been snapped up by the computer firm co-founded by billionaire Bill Gates… …He lasted just a year at Oxford University... before dropping his studies to launch a business career and later co-founded AI research laboratory DeepMind alongside childhood friend Demis Hassabis. Now Mr Suleyman, most recently co-founder of machine learning firm Inflection AI, has revealed he will be joining Microsoft to lead its newly-created AI division. He posted on X...: 'I'm excited to announce that today I'm joining Microsoft as CEO of Microsoft AI. 'I'll be leading all...
  • Using AI to fill in the missing gaps in ancient texts

A team of AI researchers at DeepMind, working with colleagues from the University of Venice, the University of Oxford and Athens University of Economics and Business, has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) application to help historians fill in the gaps of text missing from stone, metal or pottery artifacts...During certain points in history, humans began using written text for purposes such as keeping accounts. Such accounts can give modern scholars clues as to how people in ancient societies went about their days. But that is only if the artifacts can be deciphered. Many have been eroded by weather or have...

DeepMind, the AI lab backed by Google parent company Alphabet, today announced that it used AI to successfully control superheated matter inside a nuclear fusion reactor. The lab claims that the system, which is detailed in a paper published in the journal Nature, could allow scientists to investigate how such matter reacts under different conditions. While DeepMind remains engaged in prestige projects like systems that can beat champions at StarCraft II and Go, the lab has in recent years turned its attention to more practical domains, such as code generation, language processing, weather forecasting, app recommendations, and video compression. DeepMind...

From June 11-14 approximately 140 of the world’s most influential people will gather in Telfs-Buchen, Austria, for the 63rd secretive Bilderberg policy conference, just 16 miles south of the G7 summit. The invitation-only conclave is where dozens of important Big Business and Big Bank CEOs, heads of governments, and other notables discuss methods to advance the group’s globalist agenda. The attendee list and agenda for this year’s meeting have been released, providing a glimpse into a secret world to which the “have-nots” are not privy. This year’s list of attendees includes prime ministers from the Netherlands, Finland, and Belgium; the...
