The FBI and local police are investigating how at least 19 dead Virginians were recently re-registered to vote in this critical swing state. One case came to light after relatives of a deceased man received a note congratulating him for registering, Rockingham County Commonwealth’s Attorney Marsha Garst said Thursday. “His family members were very distraught,” said Garst, who confirmed the existence of the FBI and police investigation but said she could provide few details because the case is ongoing.

Retired Encinitas teacher admits cursive writing on mail ballots similar to hers. The November 2012 mail ballot cast in the name of Dara Welty carries a signature that looks nothing like hers. That’s no surprise. Welty — nature lover, world traveler, opera singer — died in Bolivia in 1998 at age 22. Her home was in Encinitas, where she remains registered to vote to this day. David Crowder El Paso Times A woman described as a pillar of the Democratic Party in El Paso has been arrested by the Sheriff's Department in connection with an investigation into bogus mail-in ballot requests during recent water board elections.
