ONE OF PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S MANY CAMPAIGN PROMISES was to ”end sanctuary cities.” On Wednesday, Trump took his first steps toward that end, issuing an executive order called ”Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States." Among other actions outlined in the order, cities that do not comply with federal immigration enforcement agents “are not eligible to receive Federal grants, except as deemed necessary for law enforcement purposes by the Attorney General or the Secretary.” In addition, the order restored both the Immigration and Nationality Act Section 287(g) and the Secure Communities Program, which are used to compel...

In case you were tempted to buy the faux Washington outrage at BP and its gulf oil spill in recent days, here's a story that reveals a little-known corporate political connection and the quiet way the inner political circles intersect, protect and care for one another in the nation's capital. Now, we learn the details of a connection of Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago mayoral wannabe, current Obama chief of staff, ex-representative, ex-Clinton money man and ex-Windy...

As the rest of us in America lose jobs by the millions, Obama wants to spend another $23 billion more of your taxes on public employees in a teacher bailout plan proposed by Senator Tom Harkin (D, Iowa). Harkin wants this new public employees bailout in order to prevent teachers layoffs, a concern echoed by Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. "We are gravely concerned," said Duncan in a letter to Congress, "that ongoing state and local budget challenges are threatening hundreds of thousands of teacher jobs for the upcoming school year." Oh, Duncan had all sorts of recommendations for Congress...

Wasn't Barack Obama supposed to be the transparent President? Wasn't he supposed to be the President who was going to reject earmarks? Not Quite. After only five weeks it is clear that as President, Barack Obama will be the most disingenuous and secretive leader since Richard Nixon had an enemies list. He pushed through a "stimulus bill" and promised that it was pork free...he lied. He said that he would be a friend of Israel and then committed to giving a billion dollars to the Gaza terrorist group, Hamas. He said he would veto any bill that had earmarks, and...

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, describing the U.S. economy as “dark, darker, darkest,” indicated that further nationalization of American banks may be necessary, although she shied away from using the word “nationalization.” Pelosi also told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that investing in food stamps and unemployment insurance would be more effective in stimulating the economy than any tax cut would be. In a taped, edited interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Pelosi was asked if she would go along with additional government investment in American financial institutions. Pelosi said she’s willing to do “whatever we have to do”...

ELYRIA -- Framed posters of Barack Obama, Che Guevara and Henry David Thoreau hang in the office of Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge. The judge, who is conducting hearings on the constitutionality of Ohio's method for putting prisoners to death, said he respects those who back up words with action and that Thoreau, the 19th-century philosopher, was his first role model. ''I tend to admire people who in my opinion go beyond their speech -- they actually do what they say,'' Burge said. For Burge, that will mean putting aside personal opinions on the death penalty -- he...

The Obama campaign might want to add another "smear" to their web page: the idea that some Obama backers, at least, have an odd affinity for murderous Communists. It started in Houston, and apparently has spread to Ohio. This photo of an Ohio judge (!) appeared in USA Today this morning:
