A remake of the 1960s cult classic Barbarella is currently in the works with Sydney Sweeney set to star, and there are already a ton of exciting updates about the new movie. Based on the French comic series by artist Jean-Claude Forest, 1968's Barbarella stars Jane Fonda as the titular space traveler who is dispatched on a dangerous mission to find the evil scientist Durand Durand who has created a weapon that could destroy all humanity. Though not as famous as contemporaries like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barbarella helped shape the face of science fiction for decades to come.

The stars of Starz’s Ash vs Evil Dead – Bruce Campbell, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Jill Marie Jones – walk the red carpet at the premiere held at the TCL Chines Theatre on Wednesday (October 28) in Hollywood. The show’s star Lucy Lawless was also there, as well as Black Sails‘ Zach McGowan, to celebrate the new series. As we mark the 40th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fox is prepping a remake of the cult classic. The two-hour taped event special, which is in development with a cast-contingent order, is executive produced by Gail Berman of The Jackal Group; the 1975 movie's producer Lou Adler; and Kenny Ortega, who is set to direct and choreograph.
