Pariah Against A Prophet By Marc Miyake, Amritas.Com Many conservatives regard Chomsky as a linguist who falters out of his field. Unfortunately, they are giving Chomsky too much credit. Chomsky's linguistics are as warped as his politics. As someone with a PhD in linguistics, I think I am qualified to judge his professional credentials. Prior to Chomsky, linguists engaged in a lot of data collection to understand the diversity of human language. I'm vehemently anti-PC, but in this case, I think the word 'diversity' is justified. There's a lot out there, and someone's got to catalog it. However, Chomsky...

There will be no Indians, no Braves and no Chiefs at Seattle's public schools after a King County Superior Court judge yesterday upheld a school district policy banning the use of tribal names for school monikers and mascots.Judge James Doerty dismissed an appeal of the policy adopted last July, which prohibits the use of American Indians or Alaskan Natives as school symbols and nicknames. Seattle Public Schools established the policy after the student-run Native American Club at West Seattle High objected to the Indian mascot and nickname used at the school for more than 80 years. The Indian mascot was...

Political Correctness at Little Round Top Almost all who visit Gettysburg, best preserved of all the Civil War battlefields, find it a deeply moving experience. This is truly hallowed ground. Here, tens of thousands of Union and Confederate soldiers fought the decisive battle of America's bloodiest war. From the first clash of the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia, to Lee's attempt turn the Union flank at Little Round Top on the second day, to Pickett's Charge against the Union center on Seminary Ridge on the third, to Lee's bleeding retreat back over the Potomac as...

Our take on 2002 AD (make that CE, copy desk!) is that it was a signal year for the advocates of political correctness, with the thought police trampling on the individual rights of many. (Eat your heart out, Naomi Klein.) And the usual handful of insensitive idiots did just plain dumb things for all the wrong reasons. - At the Royal Ontario Museum, the system of dating exhibits from AD and BC was shelved in favour of the Christ-denying labels CE and BCE, whatever they may mean. And this was done --get this Monty Python! -- even as the ROM...

"'Twas the night before Christmas and Santa's a wreck... How to live in a world that's politically correct? His workers no longer would answer to "Elves" "Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves And labor conditions at the north pole Were alleged by the union to stifle the soul Four reindeer had vanished, without much propriety Released to the wilds by the Humane Society And equal employment had made it quite clear That Santa had better not use just reindeer So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid Were replaced with 4 pigs, and you know that looked stupid! The runners had...

PRIME Minister John Howard says he believes in Santa Claus and any childcare centre planning a Santa boycott is a slave to political correctness. Some Victorian kindergartens and childcare centres have banned Father Christmas, replacing him with figures such as clowns to avoid offending minority groups. Mr Howard said the move was ridiculous and believing in Santa was one of the wonderful things about childhood. "I do believe in Santa," he told Melbourne radio 3AW. "I'm no longer a child but I believed in Santa when I was a kid ... so therefore I believe in Santa." "That (the ban)...

TORONTO (Reuters) - Christmas is becoming an endangered word in parts of Canada in a rash of politically correct behavior -- such as renaming a Christmas tree a "holiday tree" -- that even non-Christians dismiss as silly. Toronto city officials began the flap last week when they called the 50-foot tree set up outside City Hall a "holiday tree." That sparked much derision and prompted the city's mayor to set the record straight. "Our special events staff went too far with their political correctness when they called it a holiday tree," said Mayor Mel Lastman. "They were trying to be...

"Eid mubarak," or "May your religious holiday be blessed," is the message on the Eid stamp, honoring Muslim feast days known as Eid. The U.S. Postal Service first issued the stamp on September 1, 2001, at the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America. It was reissued October 10, 2002.

This is outrageous! The truth is that 1. Islamics blew up the World Trade Center 2. Islamics blew up a wing of the Pentagon in which many members of the ARMY died. 3. Islamics blew up the USS Cole in which US military died. 4. Islam is the issue with Al Quaeda and Bin Laden. This man is JOHN MUHAMMED, an Islamic who was "sympathetic" to the 9/11 terrorists. He's been out of the Army for years. He never received specialized training in sniping in the Army. He DIDN'T MAKE IT in the Army. But the lead is: "Army Vet"...

Hundreds of non-citizen screeners who work at San Francisco International Airport may yet be able to keep their jobs, but efforts to make that happen face tough political opposition with time running out.

The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee on Thursday approved a bill that would roll back the new federal requirement that security screeners be U.S. citizens. At San Francisco Airport, nearly 500 of the 1,000 screeners are not U.S. citizens.

I was just perusing my hometown paper online and noticed an article on a bank robbing spree in which fairly concise descriptions on the perps were given yet no mention of race. Since we don't live in homogenous Outer Mongolia, I found this to be stupid and dishonest and certainly of no help to capture the perps. I know this is not new and that many politically correct media outlets do this but they do it as a double standard. One can almost rest assured that if race is not given that the perps are non-white. What's next...no mention of gender? It's ridiculous.

By Daniel Pipes and Lars Hedegaard http://www.jewishworldreview.com | A Muslim organization in Denmark announced a few days ago that a $30,000 bounty would be paid for the murder of several prominent Danish Jews, a threat that garnered wide international notice. Less well known is that this is just one problem associated with Denmark's approximately 200,000 Muslim immigrants. The key issue is that many of them show little desire to fit into their adopted country. For years, Danes lauded multiculturalism and insisted they had no problem with the Muslim customs - until one day they found that they did. Some major...

Political Correctness Rings Hunchback Death Knell Fri Jun 28, 9:22 AM ET LONDON (Reuters) - A British theater company has dropped the word hunchback from its stage adaptation of the classic novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" to avoid offending disabled people, newspapers reported Friday. Oddsocks Productions has renamed its touring production "The Bellringer of Notre Dame" after discussions with a disability adviser raised the possibility of offending people with spina bifida or the disfiguring scoliosis of the spine. "We have not changed the novel in any way, we simply felt changing the title would cause less offence of people,"...
