At his post-election press conference Wednesday President Biden was asked if he had concerns about Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter. "I think that Elon Musk's cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at," he responded. "Look, we had a great relationship with Twitter before Musk butted in," the President said. "They were very compliant with our desire to censor erroneous information, ideas, and opinions. Trump was permanently banned. Questions about the covid vaccines were quickly stifled. Dissent from our policy on the war in Ukraine was suppressed. Musk has reneged on all of this. He...

A Twitter engineering manager reportedly vomited into a trash can after being told to fire hundreds of people by one of Elon Musk’s advisers. The revelation came in a lengthy article from the New York Times on Musk’s first weeks as the owner of Twitter. "The fallout has often been excruciating, according to 36 current and former Twitter employees and people close to the company, as well as internal documents and workplace chat logs,” the Times report says. “Some top executives were summarily fired by email. One engineering manager, upon being told to cut hundreds of workers, vomited into a...

I was browsing the November 2023 Costco savings booklet. I noticed a Bose SE 45 Quiet Comfort headphones on sale on Black Friday Weekend for $219. This seems like a decent discount from the prices I have seen at Amazon and similar sites. I have never owned a high-quality pair of headphones. I am not an audiophile. This would be what I am looking for: 1: Comfort: I would wear these multiple hours during the day at my desk. 2: Sturdiness: The reason I have not invested in good headphones is I tend to abuse them, or they were poorly...

Elon Musk is having way too much fun being the head of Twitter now and he’s entertaining us all in the process. Some on the left have been throwing tantrums over his takeover as well as his proposal to charge $8 per month for verification with some extra perks such as fewer ads. Among the people throwing fits were people like Kathy Griffin who decided to get back at Musk by trying to impersonate him on the site. Sarah Silverman and Valerie Bertinelli were doing it as well but pulled back when Musk said he would enforce the current terms of...

Hey smart folks, I'm one of those users who never figured out how to post italic, bold or underlined script, or how to embed photos from elsewhere into my posts. Any tips welcome. Thanks.

An anti-Russia “bot army” of fake automated Twitter accounts flooded the Internet with pro-Ukraine propaganda at the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, according to a mostly unreported study by a team of researchers at the University of Adelaide in Australia. Up to 80 percent of tweets pushing the pro-Ukraine side in the beginning days of the Russia-Ukraine war were posted by bots, according to the study which examined over 5 million tweets. “The university researchers also found these automated tweets had been purposely used to drive up fear amongst people targeted by them, boosting a high level of statistically measurable...

In a Hail Mary attempt to prevent Republican Lee Zeldin from pulling off an upset next Tuesday, Democrat Kathy Hochul’s campaign decided to deploy an army of shrill, hectoring fishwives to stump for her in reliably Democrat Manhattan Thursday. And all they managed to do is make Zeldin sound cool. As I mentioned earlier this week, the panicked Hochul held a rally featuring the unpopular Kamala Harris and the equally unpopular Hillary Clinton. And during the event, Democrat Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney referred to Lee Zeldin as “Mr. No, Mr. Darkness.” When “New Yorker” reporter Erin Durkin tweeted Maloney’s quote...

An in-depth look into the apparent bias against True The Vote by Judge Hoyt in a Civil Hearing. On Monday, True The Vote’s Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips were taken into custody after a Contempt Hearing in the Konnech v True The Vote defamation case, which after reading the transcripts, had very little to do with defamation at all. Both Catherine and Gregg refused to leak the name of the third Confidential Informant that was in the hotel room when Gregg Phillips was being shown the PII located on a Konnech database in China, and as a result, were sent...

Catturd ™ @catturd2 I admit when I'm wrong and I was 100% wrong about @elonmusk changing Twitter. The new Twitter moderation council is just a bunch of far left fanatic groups who were never targeted here. No average Joes, no real Conservatives, no one to represent the PEOPLE ACTUALLY TARGETED!

Twitter’s new owner on Tuesday indicated the social media giant will soon charge users $8.00 per month for a blue verification badge. “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit,” Elon Musk tweeted. “Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.” Musk says the new price for a checkmark will vary from country-to-country, “proportionate to purchasing power parity.” Users who pay-up will be able to post longer videos and audio clips, Musk said. As well as an ability to bypass paywall with certain publishers.

VIDEOOn the Morning Joe show, self-styled branding expert Donny Deutsch reacted to the purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk by calling him a jerk who reminded him of a dangerous Bond villain. His characterization of Musk as a "jerk" is ironic since in 2019, MSNBC allowed Deutsch to host his own prime time Saturday night show which was quickly cancelled after just 13 episodes of incredibly LOW ratings because the viewers disapproved of his lousy brand due to being a... jerk.

Elon Musk is officially Twitter's new daddy -- at least according to Elon Musk -- who says he hopes the platform will continue to be a digital town square for years to come. The Tesla/SpaceX boss explained his reasons for the $44 billion purchase Thursday, saying, "There is currently great danger that social media will splinter into far right wing and far left wing echo chambers that generate more hate and divide in our society." He continues, "In the relentless pursuit of clicks, much of traditional media has fueled and catered to those polarized extremes, as they believe that is...

Twitter employees wrote an open letter yesterday claiming they help "uplift independent journalism." They then banned my friend's account after one of my Konnech articles went viral. Twitter employees wrote an open letter yesterday to Elon Musk demanding their new leadership not fire them. They believe "Musk's plan to lay off 75% of Twitter workers will hurt Twitter's ability to serve the public conversation." The Tweeps say, "Twitter is helping to uplift independent journalism in Ukraine and Iran…." Here's the letter: IMAGES Twitter employees also banned my friend's account yesterday after he posted one of my articles on Konnech, which...

Democrat candidate for Pennsylvania governor John Fetterman's personal physician Dr. Clifford Chen of Pittsburgh's UPMC declared the candidate "fit to serve in the US Senate. His political opponents contend that his inability to speak coherently makes him a bad choice to join the world's most famous deliberative body. However, the main business of a legislator lies not in deliberation and debate, but with making backroom deals to benefit his donors. If I didn't believe John could do that I wouldn't have donated to his campaign. My willingness to put my own money on the line should reassure voters that he...

Actress Susan Sarandon, an ardent leftist during her professional life who routinely retweets other ardent leftists, posted a message on social media akin to the message that actress Gina Carano posted in early 2021 that got her canceled. In early 2021, Carano, then starring in Disney’s “The Mandalorian,” posted a message on Instagram to illustrate her feelings about the hate directed toward political conservatives. She posted a photo with the caption: Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to...

JILA and NIST Fellow James K. Thompson's team of researchers have for the first time successfully combined two of the "spookiest" features of quantum mechanics to make a better quantum sensor: entanglement between atoms and delocalization of atoms. Einstein originally referred to entanglement as creating spooky action at a distance—the strange effect of quantum mechanics in which what happens to one atom somehow influences another atom somewhere else. Entanglement is at the heart of hoped-for quantum computers, quantum simulators and quantum sensors. A second rather spooky aspect of quantum mechanics is delocalization, the fact that a single atom can be...

Hello FReepers, looking for your recommendations for curved or curved/widescreen monitors. The type of work I do (proofreading and editing) necessitates that I upgrade from 27" to at least 32". I do a great deal of side-by-side document comparisons (of files that differ in layout and formatting), and I'm thinking that a curved (or curved & widescreen) monitor would go a long way in reducing eye and neck strain.I don't do any gaming, and the monitor I have now is more than sufficient for the small amount of graphics work that I do. But I run into problems when I...

I'm trying to solve a problem with an iPhone/ Apple account for one of my relatives. The problem is her iPhone 6 constantly asks for Apple ID verification. She says he used to do that only occasionally but now it is persistent and constant. She doesn't remember her password and the email account that Apple has on record she no longer has access to. I tried clicking on the forgot my password. It does come up with a question you "Don't have access to the email account?" I clicked that and it is still is verifying to that email account...
