  • PATHETIC!!! Sickening politically correct Nestle Crunch ad panders to Muslims and the SJW crowd

How utterly pathetic. This Muslim-pandering, virtue-signaling, cringe-inducing ad from Nestle is so blatantly over the top in its sickening political correctness and Islamophilia that it will make you heave: "Fatima" celebrates how American she is with a Nestle Crunch bar.

A long, thoughtful article on the 2018 battle for Congress got me thinking. Is it possible for the good folks at Free Republic to whip up a few short, punchy scripts for election commercials aimed at television and webcasting audiences? Perhaps excerpting the aforementioned article would be helpful: How Republicans Could Still Win A forthcoming poll suggests ways they can persuade voters in swing districts. This was a week of gloomy midterm polls for the Republican Party, with a wave of results projecting a Democratic takeover of the House and maybe even the Senate. But not all polls are created...
  • Dumb White Male TV commercials

Having watched a lot of baseball (and not much else programming) I have seen so many commercials where the white male is portrayed as dumb, bumbling or stupid while women, children and "people of color" are the wise, composed, and rational. No doubt this marketing approach has been tested and proved acceptable, but I still find myself irritated every time I see it. While boycotting products marketed this way may or may not be effective I have wondered what the impact would be if some creative politically incorrect film maker would produce parodies of these ads where the white male...

  • Use of Martin Luther King Jr. to sell trucks infuriates admirers during Super Bowl

... pregame protesters rallied against racism and a television ad infuriated many viewers by invoking the voice of Martin Luther King Jr. to sell pickup trucks.... ....The biggest blowback, however, was reserved for Dodge. To many commentators, the advertisement seemed to co-opt the martyred civil rights icon in the service of crass commercialism and unblinking patriotism. King loudly opposed the Vietnam War and argued for military expenditures to be redirected to domestic spending — particularly to serve....

“We are both his biological parents,” Shea, a man who now identifies as a woman comments in Dove’s new commercial, while rocking a baby. “You get people that are like, ‘What do you mean you’re the mom?’ We’re like, ‘Yep! We’re both gonna be moms.’” After an assortment of women described their mothering journeys, Shea returned to the screen with the comment: “There’s no one right way to do it all.”

Building supplies company 84 Lumber tackled a heap of controversy over the weekend with its carefully-crafted — yet inconclusive — 90-second Super Bowl ad featuring a Mexican mother and daughter embarking on a difficult journey north that left the viewer wondering where they ended up. At the end of the ponderous tale, script appears on the screen: “The will to succeed is always welcome here.” That wasn’t the full story. The Super Bowl ad asked viewers to visit the 84 Lumber website if they wanted the rest of the story. The website version included a five-minute “director’s cut” version that...

Anheuser-Busch InBev has pulled the plug on its Bud Light ads featuring comedians Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen. According to Adweek, the beer giant pulled the ads "a little earlier than expected" after its beer sales declined in the third quarter. The Schumer-Rogen ads launched earlier this year before the Super Bowl and played off of the presidential election featuring a mock Bud Light political party. One of the advertisements dubbed "Equal Pay" received a lot of negative attention online. In the video, the comedians denounced the gender wage gap by saying Bud Light "costs the same, whether you're a...

Donald Trump's campaign is planning its biggest ad buy to date — upward of $10 million on commercials airing over the next week or so. The campaign is expects the ads to air as soon as Monday in nine swing states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida, where the campaign has already been on the air, along with New Hampshire, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada. 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney lost eight of those nine states. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has so far been badly outspent by his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, and groups supporting her....
  • How Much TV Commercial Length has Grown over the Years

We all accept commercials as a necessary evil because they pay for the TV shows we watch. But, how much is commercial time is reasonable to accept? This question was answered for me while watching a 2004 episode of Star Trek Enterprise. The commercials came so often and lasted so long that is was almost impossible to maintain a sense of continuity with the show. This situation got me wondering about how much the percentage of time given to a show is lost to commercials has increased over the years.

Full disclosure: I have a daughter-in-law who has a Black father and three grandchildren who have a Black grandfather. I notice on the few commercials that show an interracial couple it is, without exception, a Black man and a White woman. It is never the reverse of that. I understand that it is much more common for a Black male to marry a White female than the reverse and I don't care who marries who, (as long a they are of two, separate genders), but why is this?

There have been 31 games in the 2015 postseason, so far. There will be between four to seven more. By the time the offseason gets here, you might have watched over 100 hours of postseason baseball. In between those 100 hours, there will have been commercials. Oh, god, how there have been commercials.

OK, I've just watch the Nth iteration of Madison Avenue's everlasting attack of the last domestic enemy, the White Male (WM)! In recent memory there were the series of stupid Caucasian (non-Hispanic variant) men who 'starred' in the SPDR Fund ads. Now we have the AT&T ad campaign with the current one showing the husband/father totally unable to manage while the all-knowing female was away. A previous ad in this campaign had an equally clueless WM in a Real Estate Agency group of 4 much smarter women.

Ah, the 1950′s. Scares of Commies, Atomic bombs, and blacks. However, we weren’t so scared of radiation, even rubbing it right into our skin. Dorothy Gray was the best cold cream at cleaning your face because it was imbued with the power of radiation, which would melt the dirty right out of your pores. Hilarious they even test the cold cream on the model’s face by reading it with a Geiger Counter. I’d call this product “Snake Oil” except I’m pretty convinced that it actually did work. Radioactive products in the 1940s and 1950s were considered modern, powerful, wave-of-the-future type...
