... pregame protesters rallied against racism and a television ad infuriated many viewers by invoking the voice of Martin Luther King Jr. to sell pickup trucks....
....The biggest blowback, however, was reserved for Dodge. To many commentators, the advertisement seemed to co-opt the martyred civil rights icon in the service of crass commercialism and unblinking patriotism. King loudly opposed the Vietnam War and argued for military expenditures to be redirected to domestic spending particularly to serve....

.....a separate entity controls King's speeches and image Intellectual Properties Management Inc. Eric D. Tidwell, managing director of the organization, which is run by King's son Dexter, said in a statement early Monday: "We found that the overall message of the ad embodied Dr. King's philosophy that true greatness is achieved by serving others. Thus we decided to be a part of Ram's 'Built To Serve' Super Bowl program."

iow, the family is getting paid for the commercial. Suck it SJWs.

MLK is turning over in his grave. To think that he is hawking for Ram truck sales is disgraceful. Anything to make money.

It seemed to me almost all the adds were just dripping with SJW crap. Big let down. Sorry I bothered watching them. The Tide ads were the only good ones.

What’s the family complaining about? They got paid, didn’t they?

That was, apparently, ‘the deal’ that was made. The players would act like Americans (for just this game), providing their hatred of the country was instead expressed through the commercials.

I thought the ad was brilliant. It encouraged people to serve.Anyone can serve their brother was the message I got.You don’t have to be beautiful or rich etc. you can be of value to others. It was my favorite. That was King’s message and Dodge served it to all who saw that ad.
To: wastoute
That’s for sure, and I was thinking of picking up a 12er a few days ago, not anymore, we’ll stay with RC.
Dodge Ram won the commercials imho. The Vikings turning around was super.
