I voluntarily signed up for the first or second time the university offered a certificate course in “Diversity Training.” Each week we learned about another demographic group in our society — Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Gays, Women, the Elderly, Indo-Asians — and then we would bond as a group each week at a group lunch at a restaurant themed around that group: a Black “Soul Food” restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, an Indian restaurant. I privately approached the program director and said, “Y’know, for all the sensitivity and group bonding, you are isolating me as an Orthodox Jew. All...

Former Vice President Joe Biden's team was warned this week that it would be a bad idea to announce his presidential campaign on the same day as a forum focused on women of color. On the surface, the phrase is a pleasant-sounding and politically correct way to describe non-white people. However, when digging deeper, it is clear that the phrase is Marxist in origin and meaning. Marx wanted to abolish many social institutions — the family unit, private...

While Clinton has strong support from black voters, some supporters worry that Democratic challenger Bernie Sanders has begun making inroads with them. Clinton and de Blasio took the stage on Saturday at the Inner Circle, an annual media roast of politicians that...

Dear Subscribers, thanks for this week's messages of yours, about the question: how do you feel tourists are treated in venice? Some of the most interesting answers can be read in our page: http://www.veniceword.com/aboutvenice2.html We publish here our response to a remark from a subscriber, who refers to our past issue: "I think for some of your American readers the word "colored" to describe African hawkers is quite offensive. I am sure that this was an innocent mistake but one that should be corrected. Simply saying "African" hawkers would be sufficient". Thanks for your remark: we apologize, it is a...
