I voluntarily signed up for the first or second time the university offered a certificate course in “Diversity Training.” Each week we learned about another demographic group in our society — Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Gays, Women, the Elderly, Indo-Asians — and then we would bond as a group each week at a group lunch at a restaurant themed around that group: a Black “Soul Food” restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, an Indian restaurant. I privately approached the program director and said, “Y’know, for all the sensitivity and group bonding, you are isolating me as an Orthodox Jew. All the group meals are at non-kosher restaurants where I cannot eat, and all the gatherings are on Saturday afternoons, Shabbat, the day of my Holy Sabbath, so I cannot attend.” He looked at me — this master of sensitivity and diversity — and said, “We cannot accommodate everyone, Dov.” That’s how I learned about diversity.

On ‘People of Color’ and ‘Systemic Racism’ — And Why I Am Sick of Hearing It
True prejudice is not what the Left portrays today.
https://spectator.org/systemic-racism-people-of-color/
“People of Color” and “colored people” — two terms meaning the exact same thing. Only one is a new some and politically correct way of expressing racism. The other is too be shunned.
Unfortunately, the USA does have institutional/systemic racism, and its name is “affirmative action.”
In the language of the “leftwokeazis” why is “colored people” racist... but “people of color” not racist? Is NAACP now racist, should they be renamed NAAPC? Asking for a (colored) friend.
Maybe I shouldn’t ask, but what constitutes a “gay” restaurant?
Interesting account. Dov sounds like a real fighter.
Next week they will honor the Native Alaskan Tribes and go hunting for seals.
If I want diversity, I’ll visit a zoo.
This country was built in part with the terrible Original Sin of African slavery.NO IT WASN'T.
ML/NJ
Would group X be subject to racism if the vast, vast majority of its members
never used foul language in public,
never displayed anger in public,
never committed crimes,
dressed conservatively,
paid at least an average amount of taxes as a group,
took less than an average amount of welfare per member,
and kept their property and persons attractively?
As one prominent Democratic politician said long ago, to get along, go along.
If we were just all called Americans and only need to check a box for skin color for official documents like licensing and things used for ID then maybe it would help. But the government likes to keep people divided into skin color and classes.
The Party of Slavery and Racism still engaging in racism, quaint, huh? /s
imported “African slavery”
The “Original Sin” is 100% African.
Doc, it’s the main stream media playing the melting pot game of America being all things to all people. I don’t even pay attention to this nonsense any longer. It’s absolutely mind blogging ridiculous. IMHOP
I advise three things:
1. Don’t be overly sensitive to alleged signs of racism. The press is dishonestly giving that too much attention.
2. Focus on the people you know or are in contact with. For instance, I don’t live where there is BLM activity so why should I get worked up over that?
3. Be thankful that in the Senate each state has equal representation.
“Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Gays, Women, the Elderly, Indo-Asians — and then we would bond as a group each week at a group lunch at a restaurant themed around that group”
Great piece. Passing it along.
Probably the most disgusting place on earth.
Smells and tastes included....UGH!
