Jennifer Mosbacher cried in a doctor’s office the morning after Donald Trump’s election, unable to control herself during a routine physical. The 43-year-old Atlanta suburbanite had avoided politics her entire life but was overcome with shock by an outcome she never saw coming.[snip]Mosbacher’s transformation is at the heart of an unprecedented movement inside the Democratic Party. Dubbed “The Resistance,” it has — in the year since Donald Trump’s inauguration — turned countless apolitical women and men into firebrand activists set on remaking the political system. Their fury-driven activism explains why abortion-rights group Emily’s List has been contacted by more than...

IF the Republican Party in the United States of America were pulled to the right by the Tea Party because of an aversion to President Barack Hussain Obama, the election of Donald Trump as the successor to the country’s first African-American President has spawned what may be termed the “Coffee Party”. This new phenomenon is making its voice heard across the US, pushing for policies far more radical than the Republican Lite strands embraced by Bill and Hillary Clinton. Just as the Republican “Tea Party” led the political attack on Barack Obama, the Democratic “Coffee Party” is seeking to ensure...

The Coffee Party, a liberal Facebook group with nearly a million fans, posted this meme of Thomas Paine, one of America’s founding fathers. While I’m glad to see anyone studying the Founding, it looks like the message was lost on a majority of their left-leaning audience. Below are 11 of the best comments from their readers, with my responses: 1. “That is exactly like trying to reason with a republikkklan†-Ed. You know the KKK was founded by Democrats, right? 2. “Thomas Paine must have anticipated the Tea Party!†-Ed. Yes, he did – the original Tea Party that you’ve...

There is an absence of justice in our country. It is keenly felt in African American, Latino and other communities, where racial profiling has resulted in higher arrest rates, convictions and longer sentencing than caucasian offenders. We have criminalized mental illness and substance abuse; our largest treatment centers are the jails and prisons. After arrest, many people are retained without bail to await trial and chances for rehabilitation diminish as the “institution-mentality” takes root. While incarcerated, men and women are treated like animals and bullying is a survival strategy. This is the setting in which the lack of indictment in...

Today is National Coffee Day. Many outlets such as Dunkin' Donuts, Mickey Ds, and others are offering free coffee as a result. And since it is National Coffee Day your humble correspondent, a devout caffeine addict from way back, decided to Google search on all things coffee. What I discovered was something long forgotten by myself and everybody else...assuming they even remembered it in the first place. I am referring to the Coffee Party. Although the Coffee Party is completely gone with the exception of some strange clingers as we shall see, it was kicked off with tremdous hype in...

After supposed RINO Thad Cochran relied in part on African-American voters to defeat Tea Party favorite Chris McDaniel and win the Mississippi GOP’s nomination to the Senate, FreedomWorks president Matt Kibbe was very upset. Kibbe was so angry, in fact, that he was moved to petulantly declare, “If the only way the K Street wing of the GOP establishment can win is by courting Democrats to vote in GOP primaries then we’ve already won.” This Black Knight-like declaration of victory following conspicuous defeat was widely mocked as yet another example of the Tea Party’s preference to curate reality.

RIVER EDGE — A Florida man filed a lawsuit today claiming he suffered serious burns from a spilled cup of hot coffee while dining at a McDonald's restaurant in Bergen County, according to a report on NorthJersey.com. The 54-year-old plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in compensatory and punitive damages, the report said.

I have been trying my best to pay attention to everything happening in the United States and as a political science major one would assume that I would have a great grasp the ebb and flow of the current American Climate. My honest answer when asked has been a resounding- it's confusing. There is something bigger stirring the pot and many people are conflicted. There are people that are so far Right politically that they are almost left and some people that are so far Left that they should just handcuff their own arms-these people are begging for imprisonment. The...

The Left’s Pathetic Tea Party The Occupy Wall Street movement is a juvenile rabble. In the Occupy Wall Street movement, the Left thinks it might have found its own tea party. MoveOn.org and some unions have embraced the protesters. The left-wing Campaign for America’s Future is featuring them at its conference devoted to reinvigorating progressivism. Liberal opinion-makers have celebrated them — Washington Post columnist E. J. Dionne welcomes their spirit, and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof compares them, astonishingly enough, to the demonstrators at Egypt’s Tahrir Square. This is a sign either of desperation to find anyone on the...

Why hasn’t there been a Tea Party on the left? And can President Obama and the American left develop a functional relationship? That those two questions are not asked very often is a sign of how much of the nation’s political energy has been monopolized by the right from the beginning of Obama’s term. This has skewed media coverage of almost every issue, created the impression that the president is far more liberal than he is, and turned the nation’s agenda away from progressive reform. A quiet left has also been very bad for political moderates. The entire political agenda...

A live blog follows this "Picnic" of the far left going on today in Berkeley. Snip "LIVE BLOG May 1 - In light of the suspected Teatards infiltrating the picnic, we know they are there, we are holding a 30 second Same Sex Kiss In at 12 noon. Anyone not kissing will be asked, then forced to leave. It is the only thing we can think of to identify the homophobe racist tea patry types. "UPDATE: We have two gay Marines, Mark and Jerry who will be leading the event. They don't have their uniforms with them but Jerry has...

We reported on Thursday of a schism between the progressive wing of the Coffee Party and its leadership. Launched with high hopes last year and seen by some as a progressive answer to Tea Party, the party has instead been an example of the failure to counter the power and energy of the tea party movement -- and its own board members are portraying it as an organizational disaster. This week, the organization also announced the dissolution of the interim board this week, and three board members lashed out against the two cofounders in response. "We are writing to you...

Call it Coffee Party Redux. Before quickly fizzling out the Coffee Party received extreme media hype shorty after its birth last year and now its latter incarnation, No Labels is the recipient of the same kind of treatment in the mainstream media. The similarities don't stop there. Nice Deb at NewsRealBlog has listed the No Labels Declaration and the Coffee Party Mission Statement side by side and as you can see they are virtually identical in their feel good vagueness:

Somebody should send a message to the absolutely clueless AFP (Agence France-Presse) news agency: the Coffee Party today is about as signficant a political force as the Prohibition Party. However, in this AFP story by Edouard Guihaire the Coffee Party, Â which pretty much died almost at birth, is portrayed as a major political force on a par with the Tea Party. Perhaps Guihaire is new to America and has not woken up to the sad reality of the moribund Coffee Party which even our own liberal mainstream media has given up covering after an initial flurry of hype at the...

A Tea Party coloring book filled with lessons on government, freedom, liberty and faith is causing a stir among crazy leftist all over the country. In fact, they are so incensed that a coloring book would teach such filthy lessons as smaller government, lower taxes, health care choices, and how to write to your Congressmen in Washington that they are sending death threats to the CEO of Big Coloring Books. “Nobody said ‘Wayne Bell, I’m coming for you and I’m going to do this to you’,” Bell told local CBS affiliate KMOX. “But when people say to me (online) ‘We’re...

Remember all the media hoopla earlier this year surrounding the birth of the liberal alternative to the Tea Party called the Coffee Party which was founded by former Obama political operative, Annabel Park? Well, despite all the promotion of the Coffee Party by the MSM, it has pretty much fizzled out. The extent of its slide into complete insignificance can be measured by the fact that its national convention in Louisville, KY this past weekend registered almost no media coverage. Perhaps even the MSM was embarrassed by the Coffee Party's current obscurity to the extent that its lasting legacy might...

The local Alton, Illinois chapter of the Coffee Party was told to meet elsewhere after they scheduled a Muslim Speaker for a September 11 meeting. They told the owner of the coffee shop that they were non-political and non-religious. He told them to get lost. Local KMOV has the report:

No, it’s not a joke and while some people might be up in arms over it, I think it’s some of the best news for the Tea Party agenda and it’s coming right from the enemy camp. Because liberals just know how to keep it classy, they’ve decided their campaign against the Tea Party movement will be to launch a new logo with “F*ck Tea” as it’s catchy little slogan. Politico writes: "To that end, the Agenda Project, a new, progressive group with roots in New York’s fundraising scene and a goal of strengthening the progressive movement, has launched the...

In case you hadn't noticed, and you probably haven't, the Coffee Party which was hyped in the mainstream media as the liberal alternative to the Tea Party movement has pretty much faded away. A recent Washington Post article about another liberal group response to the Tea Parties, "One Nation," didn't even mention the name "Coffee Party." The ultimate political impact of the Coffee Party ended up being somewhere between nil and none. However, there is one lasting legacy of the Coffee Party: classic comedy videos. Most of those videos feature Coffee Party founder, Annabel Park, performing a bizarre stream of...
