Not even bothering to read through articles they post on their website, Code Pink's DC prima donna, Gael Murphy saw an article written by an anti-war Vietnam vet that was titled "The Cost of War at Walter Reed," and thought she had hit pay-dirt.So she posted it, apparently without reading it first. Big mistake. The author of the article, Stewart Nusbaumer, writes that he was wounded in Vietnam and spent time at Bethesda Naval Hospital as an amputee recuperating from his very serious wounds; and writes his article from the perspective of one who has been where today's wounded soldiers...

For the 28th week in a row, members of the DC Chapter of Free Republic will stand across the street from the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Northwest Washington, DC - to show our heartfelt support for our wounded soldiers and their families, to say "Thank you" to them and the medical presonnel who are helping these brave men and women to heal their bodies, minds and spirits, and to say "How Dare You!" to the America-hating members of Code Pink, Veterans for Peace and other heartless leftists as they protest our mission in Iraq, the president,...

Members of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic livened up Cindy Sheehan's die-in at the White House tonight. We started arriving at 6 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House. I arrived at 6:45, so others will have to fill in the early part. We had about a dozen or more scattered about in small groups engaging the anti-American leftists gathered to play extras in Cindy Sheehan's Traveling Freak Show of Treason and Tragedy.Cindy's latest publicity gambit is to stage die-ins in front of the White House to 'observe' the 2000th death of American soldiers in Iraq. She...

After seven full months of unrelenting battle with Freepers from the DC Chapter and across the country, it looks like Code PinkOs' hardest core supporters are suffering from serious "battle fatigue." What Code Pink's leaders, Gael Murphy and Medea Benjamin, first thought would be a gold mine for their group (money-wise, media-wise and morale-wise) has turned into a quicksand pit. Code Pink didn't just drag its members down into the quagmire, but they also sucked in members of the many and varied leftist groups in DC that hitched their wagons onto the blood dance at WRAMC; and now they are...

WASHINGTON -- Cindy Sheehan and other peace activists plan to "die symbolically" for the next four days outside the White House to represent the American soldiers who have died in Iraq. "I'll be laying down and not getting up," Sheehan said Tuesday to a small crowd in which the number of journalists exceeded the number of protesters. Sheehan also said she would visit Arlington National Ceremony, Walter Reed Hospital and the Iraqi Embassy this week. "Two thousand families have been destroyed for nothing," Sheehan said. "Enough is enough. The killing has to stop sometime."

Cindy Sheehan, anti-war movement icon, has deep ties to the Code Pink organization. Will she be going on their, "Friendship Delegation" to Cuba in January? Or on their communist pilgrimage to Venezuala to attend the World Social[ist] Forum in February? Code Pink is yet another anti-war organization, socialist in orientation and leadership, that is dishonest about their goals and aims, tirelessly calling the United States an oppressive terrorist power. Let's go to Cuba? Feel like Bush is trying to crush your dissent? Tired of chanting death to America at anti-war rallies only to find that the American people won't join...

For over half a year, FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Despite the heavy concentration of liberals and leftist activists in the DC area, we've outnumbered the Pinkos at least 17 or 18 of these 26 FReeps at Walter Reed and we outnumbered them again on Friday, Oct. 14. This night featured some inspiring discussions from veterans, the first car crash in front of us, a Veterans for Peace bus repeatedly driving around the location and then getting stuck, a TV crew...

Well, at least we know where to find these guys.... From Chicago Indymedia. The Activist Student Union (ASU) of DePaul University is calling for all people concerned with defending Ward Churchill's views and with defending academic freedom, to rally at DePaul. Churchill was invited by DePaul's Cultural Center and the ASU to speak because of his political views and his history of standing up and fighting for human rights and dignity. Were it not for right-wing attacks that have included threatening letters to the staff at the Cultural Center and a letter from the Governor of Colorado urging DePaul to cancel...

October 17, 2005 Dear XXXXXXX, Almost 2000 American soldiers killed and over 25,000 wounded. More than 100,000 dead and wounded Iraqi civilians. $200 billion wasted. When does it stop? How many more US soldiers and innocent Iraqis must give their lives before our government admits the war was a mistake and that it’s time to bring our troops home? U.S. soldiers are at grave risk in Iraq, and continue to suffer even after they come home. Troops returning to the U.S. are suffering post-traumatic stress disorder, and are even turning up in homeless shelters in cities all over the country....

<p>WASHINGTON, DC 10/7/05— Neither rain nor dark of night nor suffocating humidity nor high winds nor slippery mud beneath their feet shall stay these FReepers from their appointed rounds. Not the umbrella of the FReeper next to you ducking under your umbrella to dump a heavy stream on your shoulders, nor your FoamCore signboards turning to mush and curling over, nor your fingers turning red and blue from the sign paint wetly streaking.</p>

Sunday, Code Pink held their bi-weekly protest outside of Balboa Naval Hospital. Thanks to San Diego radio host Rick Roberts and the San Diego Protest Warriors, WE SHUT CODE PINK DOWN!We had about 25 flag-waving supporters and occupied Code Pink's favorite corner as well as our own. Code Pink, numbering about 13, was so perplexed that they sat down right in the parking lot and held an emergency conference. (snicker)Their brilliant decesion was to parade around a secluded part of the park, nowhere near us, and then they went home!I believe the phrase "owned" is appropriate.

THE green video screen in the back of a Bradley fighting vehicle is the ultimate in reality television, and that is how we watched the battle of Fallujah unfold as our 30-tonne steel beast advanced into the district of Jolan, the rebels' bastion, in the small hours of yesterday morning. Outside, in the bomb-blasted streets, up to 5,000 die-hard insurgents were out to kill. Inside, on a screen accurate enough to show rats scavenging on the rubbish piles, the battle between luminous green tanks and luminous green gunmen seemed almost abstract. Only the shock of the explosions and the occasional...
