Trump gives Russia 50 days to make Ukraine deal

US President Donald Trump told Russia on Monday to end its Ukraine war within 50 days or face massive new economic sanctions as he laid out plans for new infusions of weaponry for Kyiv via NATO.

Trump said he was "very, very unhappy" with Vladimir Putin, underlining his insistence that his patience had finally snapped with the Russian leader's refusal to end his three-year-old invasion of Ukraine.

"We're going to be doing very severe tariffs if we don't have a deal in 50 days, tariffs at about 100 percent," Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

50 days until 100% tariffs on jack sh!t.

Yet Trump is not convinced the 500% secondary tariffs will be needed.

Additionally, there is no new Presidential draw down authority, so they won't be taking stock beyond the 10 Patriot interceptors already authorized. Whether Biden's commitments will be met is unlikely, but even if it is the limit is $3B...assuming all the Congressionally authorized draw down authority was committed by Biden.

Other than that, NATO (sans US) gets in line for new production. They submit their PO, make their deposit, and await firm order commitment.

Does anyone see it any other way?

“Remember Tehran.”

What does that have to do with anything?

More toothless sanctions that haven’t worked for three years now (or over ten, since we’ve been doing it since they took Crimea in 2014.) Russia’s top trading partners are China (#1), India (#2) and Turkey (#3). U.S. is miniscule to them.

Mostly fertilizer, and a little bit of gold.

In that case the way to put teeth into the sanctions is to apply them to secondary countries like China, India, and Turkey on all products and parts originating in Russia.

Production and delivery of any new missiles is one year out.

Our stocks are at around 25% or enough for about 4 to 6 weeks supply if we need them...if that long.

POTUS says no, or not now.
Or something.

Trump loves tariffs and EOs because he can decree them without having to mess with the Congress idiots.

Trump is limited in what he can do to make other sovereign countries do what he wants. But financial steps may be helpful.

Reagan policies helped bring an end to the Soviet Union. Although a lot has changed since then Russia is not in very good economic shape these days.

“Production and delivery of any new missiles is one year out.”

For just about every smart weapon we have.

And, we get the vast majority of all new production.

It could be several years before Ukraine/NATO sees a new Patriot interceptor. Much less a whole new system.

The DC/London axis ran into an actual red line. And they simply cannot believe that charm, bluster, anger, threats and flattery will get them to acquiesce to our terms at their expense.

Bottom line, our side is broke, losing, and we desperately want to stop the fighting so we can start the “Blackrock rebuilds Ukraine” phase and start screwing with China.

I’ll check in in September and see how it looks.

In 50 days, Russian soldiers will be in the suburbs of Kiev or certainly have crossed the Dnieper. Then the real negotiations will begin in earnest.

“Does anyone see it any other way?”

Didn’t you say that we could MATERIALIZE weapons out of thin air, so we never had to worry about about inventories and could keep sending weapons to Ukraine for the next 100 years? Oh wait, that was the Zeepers implying that.

“What are we buying from Russia to tariff these days?”

Nothing important, just the fuel to keep our reactors operating. But we’ll SHUT THEM DOWN (just like Europe) in order to STICK IT TO PUTIN!!!
