(CNN)Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has raised more than $100 million for his 2022 reelection bid, a stunning sum that speaks as much to his national ambitions as it does to his prospects in the Sunshine State. DeSantis is widely regarded as the biggest star not named "Donald Trump" within the Republican Party. He regularly runs second to Trump in 2024 straw polls and often wins them outright when Trump is not included. And unlike many other Republicans mentioned as possible 2024 candidates, DeSantis has not said he would get out of the race to make way for Trump. Which, of...

A college student has ripped into CNN’s Brian Stelter for being “right up there” on delivering false narratives after members of the liberal media accused Fox News of being a “purveyor of disinformation”. The CNN anchor was a guest at the University of Chicago’s panel discussion on ‘Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy’ when a college student didn’t hold back arguing the network had made several mistakes including failing to report on the Hunter Biden laptop story. “You’ve all spoken extensively about Fox News being a purveyor of disinformation but CNN is right up there with them,” college freshman Christopher...

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the Biden administration rescinded Title 42 because their “focus” is creating a right to remain for immigrants seeking to enter the United States. Title 42 was enacted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during the COVID pandemic in March 2020.

CNN finally admitted on Wednesday that Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” is authentic 532 days after the initial story broke on October 24, 2020 — notably calling it “Russian disinformation” and “made up” at the time. “There are a lot of issues that the Justice Department are looking into, including, of course, this laptop – on the right-wing – has featured a lot of stories about Hunter Biden,” CNN’s Evan Perez acknowledged. “We know the FBI has possession of it and that they believe it is his laptop.”
-
CNN Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter could not answer why there is a “rush to dismiss Hunter [Biden’s laptop investigation] as not a relevant story” while quite a bit of coverage has gone to conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and the text messages of his wife, Ginni. While discussing the media’s influence on election narratives, the Reliable Sources panel on Sunday addressed whether Thomas should recuse himself in forthcoming Supreme Court election cases in light of his wife's texts that show she asked former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to help overturn the 2020 elections. S.E. Cupp,...

Disgraced CNN legal contributor Jeffrey Toobin wrote an opinion article on Tuesday that complained Republicans are winning the “ideological war” at Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing. Toobin, who was caught masturbating on a Zoom call with former colleagues at the New Yorker but returned to CNN after a seven-week suspension, penned an op-ed noting Democrats are allowing Republicans to win the debate over how the constitution should be read. “Conservatives Are Winning the Ideological War at Jackson’s Hearing,” the headline read.

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” CNN Chief Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin and CNN Senior Political Correspondent Abby Phillip argued that Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) questioning of Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was an attempt to appeal to QAnon followers.
-
On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman and Senate Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) stated that criticisms of Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record on crime from some Republicans are because Republicans accuse “every” Biden judicial nominee of being soft on crime to push the issue for the 2022 elections and because “there are some of them that are still struggling to accept” an African American female public defender would be “a good asset to the Supreme Court.”

On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm called for “everyone to step up, whether it’s gas station owners, whether it’s oil companies” to increase energy supply and said there is “concern about whether there is profiteering happening at the gas station level, as well as at the oil company level.”
-
On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said European nations that are “much more reliant upon Russia for natural gas and for oil,” are “doubling down” on becoming energy independent through green energy, “and we should be doing the same.” Co-host Brianna Keilar asked, “[W]e’ve seen these reports, the administration’s reaching out to Saudi Arabia and to Venezuela. I think folks that many Americans might consider unsavory characters, in this search for energy, to kind of fill this Russian energy void. How should Americans view this?”

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) on Sunday questioned why the U.S. rejected Poland’s proposal to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to a U.S. air base in Germany, saying “I don’t understand why we’re not doing it.” Asked by co-anchor Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union” if he is worried that Poland giving planes to Ukraine could trigger World War III, Portman said “I don't know why that would be true.”

U.S.—Thousands of people across the US have been diagnosed with some form of myocarditis, a potentially deadly but rare inflammation of the heart muscle. Media reports say the dramatic spike in cases may be linked to the Ukraine crisis. "Correlation does not equal causation," said CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. "But this time it may. The nation is currently reeling from an uptick in myocarditis cases as Russia invades Ukraine. Honestly, we really can't think of anything else in the world that could possibly be causing this." According to sources, Cooper had invited Dr. Fauci on the program but couldn't get...

Incoming CNN boss Chris Licht plans to nix the network's left-leaning commentary when he assumes the role of president this May, insiders say, and has already engaged in talks with rival Fox News about halting its aggressive coverage of them. Former CBS exec Licht, 50, who headed Stephen Colbert's Late Show for six years until it was announced he was replacing ousted boss Jeff Zucker last month, has already begun closed door conversations with key figures close to the conservative news network, two sources close to the matter told The Daily Beast Tuesday. Licht reportedly told certain Fox reporters and...

While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) reacted to the Biden administration reportedly looking to increase energy imports from Iran and Venezuela by calling for a return to prior energy production policies to boost domestic energy production. CNN Chief Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju asked, “So, should the administration ease restrictions on production?”
-
New CNN boss Chris Licht has issued warnings to key figures at the network, including agents of the stars and reporters, according to multiple media reports. Licht has reportedly told top CNN hosts, including Don Lemon and Jim Acosta, that they must “tone down” their “opinionated reporting.” Sources tell The Daily Beast that Licht, who officially takes over in May, is also calling for a truce with Fox News. Such a truce has already been evidenced by Brian Stelter, host of CNN’s Reliable Sources and one whose job is rumored to be on the chopping block, who has mentioned Fox...
