Police said that 35-year-old Clearwater clerk, Miles Jenkins “got frustrated with a customer over payment” and “threw a Big Gulp cup filled with lemonade at [her].” The woman told police the flying lemonade struck her in the left side of her head. A Florida man is behind bars after his girlfriend, who was allegedly abused by him, slipped a note to a store clerk asking for help, according to Fox 13 Tampa Bay. Mark Frumosu, 37, was arrested Tuesday and slapped with eight charges ranging from felon in possession of a firearm to aggravated assault in connection with the case. While reading about that clerk, a thought occurred to me. Suppose a devout Muslim was a cook at a government cafeteria. And suppose pork chops were on the menu that day. Would the muslim be forced to handle the pork chops, or would he be excused from that particular duty?

I thought it would be interesting to look at the laws by which elected County Clerk of Rowan, Kentucky was elected to abide by. The County Clerk does much more than just issue marriage licenses. This document, Duties of Elected County Officials details the various duties. Roanoke City Police are still investigating a shooting that happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. It happened at the Paradise Deli Mart near the corner of Orange Avenue and 18th Street. Police tell WSLS the shooting happened after an attempted robbery. The store clerk told police that he saw the man pull a weapon, but was able to shoot him in self defense. No word right now where the man was shot, but he was able to run about fifty yards away where police apprehended him in a nearby alley.
