Hundreds of people protested outside the Russian Embassy in London on Friday night, carrying placards accusing Vladimir Putin of murdering Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader. A brass sign by the entrance gate to the embassy in Kensington was covered in red paint and handprints by demonstrators, while a shrine to Navalny, who died in a penal colony in Siberia on Friday, was set up on the opposite side of the road.
