Physicist Wins Ig Nobel For Beer Foam Theory POSTED: 11:23 a.m. MDT October 17, 2002 Last week, a few scientists won the Nobel Prize for outstanding discoveries. Some others won the Ig Nobel Prize for research that's highly unusual. Every fall at Harvard University, the scientific elite get decidedly unserious when Nobel winners give out the Ig Nobel prizes at a spoof of the Nobel ceremony. Physicist Arnd Leike won an Ig Nobel this year for showing that beer foam follows mathematical law as it shrinks. "The value of a $100 bill is going down like the mound of...

Two days ago I wrote a comment thread about my lack of free speech at work. I did get good advice from several people on this, but there were others who misunderstood or misread my thoughts. I was wondering about this and I came to the conclusion that I’m not real good at typing paragraphs and sentences in a manner so that folks can understand me. I often have trouble saying what I really mean; now I could “cop out” by saying it’s because I’m surrounded by liberal influences. But, that doesn’t account for my lack of speaking or typing...

A project of the American Family Association Wednesday, October 16, 2002 How To Help Your Kids Stand Strong In The Face Of Today's Culture Dear OneMillionDads.com member:I want to share with you something that has alarmed me. I have just finished reading the first few pages of Josh McDowell's latest book Beyond Belief to Convictions and have to be honest I am shocked! I'm not surprised that our young people are under increasing pressure and temptations in today's postmodern culture. What I am surprised by is the extent to which our own young people have adopted such...

The evil cancer of modern liberalism has spread through society. Few people, however, recognize its root. It all boils down to a simple credo: Hardship is bad, and society should work against it. This statement seems at first obvious, indisputable, and self-evident. It is also, however, FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG. Unfortunately, this lie has become so ingrained into our culture I don't know how to root it out. Perhaps someone here will have some ideas. Economists recognize that [generalized] Demand is an unlimitted force. Attempts to satisfy it can consume unlimitted resources and yet still not succeed. Worse, if Demand were somehow...

Okay, my problem is that I remember making them and they were so cute to sit on the Thanksgiving table, but I don't recall how to make them. Sigh, and now I wish to teach my grandchildren how to make them, but I forget if the marshmellows go on the tail or the raisins. And what did we use for the gobbler and feet? Yes, I have searched on the net, and I find that they now make turkeys for the decoration of the table out of construction paper. LOL If anyone remembers, I sure would appreciate your help.
