(WLOS) — In downtown Spartanburg’s Morgan Square in South Carolina, you’ll see the "I Love You” statue created by students from The South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind, and a statue commemorating Revolutionary War hero Daniel Morgan. But the most talked-about piece of public art on the square may be the one that honors border collie Chaser, known as “the smartest dog in the world.” “She knows a thousand words,” said Spartanburg philanthropist Monty Mullen. “She had 1,000 toys and they were all named, and she could identify them.” Chaser was owned and trained by Dr. John...

The U.S. Department of Defense has released the first footage of its prototype unmanned anti-submarine ship being developed to track quiet diesel-electric submarines over long distances. Chaser follows in the footsteps of Rico, who trained at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany. Rico had a "vocabulary" of 200 words and could identify new objects in a group of familiar objects by a process of elimination, according to...

Therefore, even though they were in the Senate together for the last four years, the two men had only met in passing. Actually, Cheney...

Nasa comet chaser finds 'footprints' 2bn miles away By Roger Highfield, Science Editor (Filed: 18/06/2004) Giant "footprints" measuring about a mile from heel to toe have been found on a comet. The Stardust spacecraft reached comet Wild 2 in January after a six-year journey of two billion miles. Scientists expected to see a big chunk of rock and ice around three miles across, liberally coated with dark dust, obscuring any interesting features. Stardust flew less than 150 miles from the comet's heart and the first detailed analysis of the rendezvous, published today, describes the "feet" along with broad mesas, craters,...
