(07-08) 18:54 PDT LOS ANGELES, (AP) -- Democratic candidate for governor Jerry Brown on Thursday dismissed a poll showing his Republican opponent gaining ground among Hispanic voters, saying it was merely the result of a misleading media campaign from rival Meg Whitman. "You can put up your billboards and put stuff in Spanish on television, but the people aren't fooled," Brown said during a news conference at California State University, Los Angeles.
